100's have crossed the border. Maybe 1,000's. Wgt is focusing on Mobile as their future now. It's plain and simple if one steps back and looks. The horrendous PC play (every bug) either began, or was magnified when they rolled out that Mobile version. Using Adobe for this type of game, is old school now. Steam is "steam-rolling" (needs work, but it's the future).
The cost for WGT to change, in order to compete, would be too much. Not to mention, dumb business sense. The owners/inventors have a long history of tech start-ups, getting them rolling with other people's money, making money, paying their debts, and walking away with a big fat wad. The people at the top know how to make money. And, you don't make money in the tech world by kissing customer's a**es. In a year, if that, WGT will be the Number One Mobile golf game (for long enough to get people rich, or richer).
The PC days are numbered. Adobe is the Pong. Steam is the Pacman (for the older folks who remember). For the younger crowd, Adobe is Mario Brothers. Steam Is Call of Duty. Both fun, but one makes the other look rather antiquated.
WGT would be foolish to do anything other than just keep the game running as cheaply as possible, and focus on the Mobile version, which has ZERO competition. Just the other day, the head honcho was the speaker at a summit focusing on Mobile and the future.
I'm on both other games (been on 'em since 2013). Own both, but still blindly and dumbly hope that this "1st love" will come around. Might not be the best, but it's the one I want to play.
