borntobesting:
alosso: "Flash is dead" has been in the headlines, because major applications like youtube will turn away right now, leaving Adobe no rationale to continue.
The headlines might say flash is dead but there have been some game companies including E.A.'s Pogo that have actually left or are leaving the Java platform and switching to flash for more stable game play. So what does that say about those headlines??
I forgot I had an old Pogo acct (since 2001). Was able to log in and play some dominoes. Flash will never go anywhere, but it is not the platform for this type of game. This works, and probably will always work, just not to any degree that it can be anything other than what it is now. And, Pogo is more in the style of candy crush, and cartoonish games.
If WGT went to Steam, both competitors would become one hit wonders. But, like I said, the cost to do that extremely outweighs the benefits. Being the only mobile golf game in town is a money-maker, so common and business sense would dictate "let's go in that direction". The PC version might sustain itself, but won't be the profit dog it's been.
I would very much like to be wrong :-)
