borntobesting: Firstly where do you get only 10 courses??
Whilst there may be 17 courses, counting "best ofs" is double dipping. Take out the Tru Golf courses you have 10 unique courses (Tru Golf as they are inferior in every way and require a green fee).
Then for someone like me who refuses to play a par 3 course (regardless of difficulty as people say) I have 9 courses I can play. And seriously, CTTH courses are lame. When I first found this game, that is all there was, so left only to find it a couple of years later.
Then if you dislike a course (mine is RSG) pickings are pretty thin. So 10 courses over the 4 or 5 years I have been here, and on the assumption you play frequently, I think it is a fair call if someone gets bored by the limited options for stroke play. Sheesh, the pin positions are limited as well.
Then take away KIA which is a crap shoot on the greens, it starts to look dire.
But the point the OP makes is true, the game has been made too easy by the equipment, which is continuing to improve. This is really where the game suffered in the pursuit of the dollar.
WGT is still a good game, but should have, and still could be so much better. But with all the problems it is beggining to look like it has past it's "best before date".
Whether the company has the management and vision to reignite a lot of players enthusiam is debatable.
