A pretty sloppy 77 from me. I started by making what might be the only straight 15 footer on the course and thought it might turn out to be a good round. But I misjudged my approach to 2 badly and wound up with a bogey, then on 4 I hit a great wedge to save par... and missed the putt from 3.5 feet. Short putts on Kiawah are not friendly with starter gear. I must have missed three or four from inside 5 feet.

I even broke my TIO streak of two putts or better with a three-putt bogey on 7 from 45 feet.

The hole I was really disappointed about was 10, where I had less than 90 yards for my third and couldn't hit the green. I flopped it to 7 feet and missed the putt.

I did finish well with a tap-in birdie on 17 and a difficult par save on 18 from the edge of the front bunker; this time I made the putt.

Andivo in my CC shared this event with me so I thought I would have a go. I'm shocked at how well I played since I rarely play uneven. Just happy to be with the big boys at least for 1 round! lol.

    Hey all,

So, the first even par round 72 for me..   was fun, had 5 birds,

56% GIR, (Highlight of the round) which is way more than i expected, but thx to practice round with Joe, helped me judge the roll, to somehow stop the ball on greens.

Some good putting throughout the round, couple sweet lipouts, but was good consistent round.

gl to the guys, who are yet to complete their round.  have fun, !!

Toughing it out was hard to do while putting this terrible round together. The putting was horrendous. Nevertheless, red faced and a tear stained scorecard, here it is..

I managed a 73 with good wedge work, but little help from my putter.  Should have been under par, but no putts over 10 feet and a couple of ugly misses on the back cost me.

I forgot to post the 1st round scorecard & stats:

The 26.7 feet putt at #18, with a huge late click (lol, the perfect read)
