A word on disconnections -
During the group stages -
If you suffer a disconnection during a game please do the following-
If you get disconnected on holes 1, 2 or 3, restart the game and play up to the point of disconnection and restart the scoring from that point on.
If you get disconnected on hole 4 or beyond players have the option to continue the match from the first tee to save unnecessary time being wasted eg if a match completes hole 6 then suffers a disconnection players can start from the first tee and play holes 1, 2 and 3 as your holes 7-9.
For avoidance of doubt all matches play to a result -
Each game will play to a result, with a twist... If a match is tied after 9 holes, the match will continue into sudden death extra time, but to ensure matches do not drag on time wise, the extra time is not better ball, but instead combined score, eg. birdie + par loses to birdie + birdie. I must stress this is just on the extra holes.
If after three extra holes the match is still tied, on the fourth hole the match is decided by best ball nearest the pin, in regulation. In respect of the person who came up with this cruel but spectacular means of finishing a match, this stage will forever be known as a 'Plim-alty' shootout...
We have gone for combined score extra holes purely because the standard of the field is so high, matches could be very close, so this is a means to stop matches dragging on too long.
