Having played many years on WGT i can say with complete certainty that the last WGT maintenance undertaken in Feb 2015 when Chambers Bay was added marks the date from which all these new issues have arisen (for me at least).
I have the latest computer and all updates are automatic - so please look in-house for the errors !
1. Invites not working - as verified due to Skype
2. Player status (colors) not correct - as verified due to Skype
3. Frequent - "Unexpected Error" page.
4. Home page - "Cannot connect to WGT - Retry" instead of log-in box - unable to connect to WGT unless PC is rebooted. this is now quite frequent !
5. Disappearance of Chat option during game and hole info box (top left).
6. Rear camera views on many holes not functioning.
7. Occasional award of skins to the wrong player.
8. After "pick up the ball"in skins - repeated messages like "Birdie - player x has won 0 skins" " The game has ended" repeated 3 - 4 times in succession before resuming with next player's putt.
9. Blue screen
These and I'm sure many other technical issues mentioned by others have severely diminished the enjoyment of this wonderful site - once upon a time there was Kiawah Island and a great online golf experience was born, the introduction of new courses BP - St A made it a fantastic site but also more error prone as the complexity grew.
Since a return on investment must be achieved the introduction of better balls and clubs all well and good, however with all these changes (improvements) the technical demands on the WGT system have also increased and therein lies the conundrum for WGT.
The introduction of the CC pass bodes ill for the future of WGT since it is clear to many of us that this is the thin end of the wedge and will sooner or later be extended to general play and thus a green fee will be required to play and free Golf on WGT will be ended.
I do hope for the sake of the site and all WGT's devoted customers, that the ability of WGT to manage its growth is not hampered by the desire to maximize the ROI at the expense of quality and customer satisfaction.
There will soon be competitor sites online and unless WGT can improve / minimize the errors, then, as WGT becomes more troublesome, die-hards like me will look for alternatives.
