I agree. I'm using the Versa lvl 70 and am very happy with it.  I just tried the Nike 001 Method lvl 77 over the weekend, and I like to 10 and 20 ft. scale meters, but then it jumps up.  Going from the lvl 35 Ghost Spyder to the Versa  made a hugh difference for me

Not to put too fine a point on it, but don't you mean oily feathers?

    SweetiePie:
I will say this, the entire family of Versa putters, L-22, L-33, L-70, L-86 and L-96, while being premium priced, are the very best putters we have at WGT...all of them. ~ SP ~

Agreed.   I was using the L96 Versa and came to the realization that it was too good for me.  I almost went back to the L70 but the Max Master putter has basically the same specs, except meter speed, but it makes up for that in increments.

I use the Max's 20 foot scale like it's the 30 foot scale on the other putters, but don't have to worry about too many formulas for the green speed (Champ greens I mean).

What I do is figure out the % power required for the distance on the 30 foot scale (without account of the champ greens) and then use the 20 foot scale to hit the putt.  Do the same for the 40 foot scale treating it like the 60 foot scale.

example:   15 foot flat putt.   15 is 50% of the 30 foot scale, actual distance, but instead of formulating for green speed, I just hit 50% of the 20 foot scale on the Max putter.  It's not exact and that's fine, but it's easier to do fast in my head and add a bit more power to the putt based on feel for break and slope.

I may not be the best putter in the game, but I can lag putt with the best of them on a short shot clock.  ;-)

Interesting comment, H. Why do you think that?

So u are taking off 33.3% for champ greens.

    Too much in my opinion.

27.5% is so easy to do quickly in ur head.

Subtract a quarter, and then subtract a further 10% of the remainder

    E.G.

    32 feet, subtract 1/4    32-8 = 24

    10% of 24 = 2.4

    Therefore hit 21.6

    Takes a nanosecond to do.

The greatest sin in golf is to be short on a putt, 27.5% pretty much guarantees I won't be short.

It was too precised for my way of reading the putt.  In the early days, I was a mis ding putter, then as time went on I tried being a ding putter but that didn't work well with my crap reaction timing on the meter.  I then mixed the two with more emphasis on aiming for ding but trying to miss against the break.

I think the most precise putter just wasn't working with that.  Well, at least that's what I ended up blaming most of my missed putts on lol.  I'd love to go back to a more precise putter now, but like my method of judging distance and wouldn't want to lose the amount of putter increments the Max has.

Perhaps, if a new Odyssey putter comes around, I'll jump on it and I'm suspecting the new Odyssey Works line up to be here sooner or later.  Just hope they add the #7 model since that's the odyssey putter head I've used for better part of 10 years in real life.  Had my share of the blades but always come back to the #7.  Which they have in the pro shop here now but wasn't worth a darn specs wise.

Why don't u try the Nike Method at Level 94 H.

It has slower meter than Odyssey, and if it is like the level 77 Nike, then it is more suited to off ding, not that u will miss the ding very often with it.

Thought about it, but like the meter increments of my Max putter.  10,20,30,40,60,80,100,200,300,  not that I get up past the 100 too often.  Maybe a handful of times in last 6 months I used the 200 foot putter scale just to not have to use so much of the meter for a long putt at St A's.

Truthfully, the only times the L96 putter ever really hurt me was the short breaking putts, and even the short 4 or 5 footers with a hint of break. I burned alot of edges lol, and don't even bring up being firm, the lip outs just zipped further away lol.
