Round 2 match between myself and Mohuyu ... Mo wins handily 3 & 2.
Oakmont is a brute, but I've always said that if you make good choices AND a few good shots, you can do well there. Unfortunately, I didn't manage to do either very well. Missed fairway on 10, but managed to save par ..dodged a bullet there when Mo's birdie putt slipped past on the high side.
Thought I'd dodged another on #11 when Mo just missed on the high side, but my 5 footer for par lipped out ... 1DN.
#12 ... both 3rd shots ran past the hole to the back of the green, but Mo drains his 17 footer for bird to go 2UP.
#13 .. 2 solids pars to halve the hole
#14.. This was my best chance to get one back when Mo missed his only fairway. Sadly, I pulled my tee shot into the rough, too. Knocked it back on the short stuff and then left a long breaker for par. Mo advanced forward in the rough, then stuck his par saver to about 2.5 feet. My long one...well, it was the right line, just too hot to stay in the hole ... Mo goes 3 UP ... and the fat lady starting tuning up. I managed to stick around for a couple more holes, but that was it.
