Looking at the quality of the names on 56, the total number of players qualifying is bound to increase substantially over the next few weeks. I reckon there will be 200+ with 55 and under.

4 left to go @ 55 or better ....    who'd a thunk 16 under would be the cut line before we saw the course ...

I count 97 players at 56, many familiar names, all of them very good players.  Only two more scores of 55 or better will lower the line to 55, and I see a shipload of potential 55s.  Then the question becomes, will 55 hold up over the next 3 weeks?  I think it will, but as mentioned previously there will be plenty of players who make the cut, 200 or better.

LMAO. GEEEZZZUS, this looks like one of those tournaments where you can post 4 rounds of 57 and come in last place...WTF LOL.

I knew i was an easy course if I can shoot low...

Not that surprising really, the 4 excellent eagle opportunities bring the par down a couple of shots in my opinion. Not only do you have great opportunities to be putting for eagle on these holes but the contours of the green funnel the ball to the hole mostly. In previous years -14 under got you in so -16 merely reflects the increased chances of eagles in a round.

It will be quite a different course when they push those 6 shortened holes back to the tips and throw in some moderate and heavy winds. I don't look for very many mid 50's rounds. High 50's will be good rounds. It's that severe ... 3 of the par fours will be difficult to reach in two with heavy head winds ... none of the par 5's will be reachable in two with heavy headwinds. #1, #6 and #7 will be tough to stop a shot close in heavy tailwinds ...

One things for certain ... it will be great fun !

Indeed they do, good observation. Now let's all marvel at the deviousness of the setup to begin with. All those players that banged out a 56 early and thought they were in Fat City now get to scramble all over again. Just look at the ball sales going through the roof in the next 3 weeks.

Oh, in case anybody's interested, just like in previous years the course doesn't play today like it did 5 weeks ago-all those nice shots you got away with because of relaxed deviations went away.  Let the grinding and sweating begin.  LOL
