If it starts to look like 55 is the number, I'm considering buying Platinums just for the par 5s. But that might mess up yardages on my irons, so who knows.

Congrats MM, Fat Dan and all on posting #'s inside the qualifying score as it sits currently. :)  Going to try the course for the first time to qualify and post a # this weekend!  I have played it and love it so far via skins games and alt shot w/friends.

Any one figure the best way to play #7 yet?

Also thanks for all the tips I can glean from this post to improve my slim to non chance @ posting a 56 the current cut #.

Cheers and well-done on your qualifying rounds!~GD~

I think I've birdied #7 twice in four attempts. I play left of the hole because it will run hard right, and anything long (up to a certain point) will funnel back on to about 15 feet. It's not as tough as it looks.

100 players now on 55 or below so a good few more rounds down there needed to move the cut down from 56.  The 77 guys on 56 aren't safe.

I decided to keep restarting until I hit a 4 birdie start and at least -8 at the turn.  Trouble was by then all my notes were on that front 9 and had hardly played the back holes.  Eventually hit the turn at -9 and managed to carry through to a 55.  I needed plenty of luck with wind and rolls on the greens though.

Luckiest hole was probably #12.  I aimed right and short of the pin for a safe birdie.  Dinged well early and feared the worst.  Turned out to be my best tee shot there so far.

I don't think my 3 iron has that kind of stopping power. Against the wind, maybe.

The only difference between my Nike Vapors and ur R11's is forgiveness and meter speed...

I also have r11's and practiced with them  and we both use lvl 61 nike ball, they have plenty of spin...try a sleeve of lvl 81's with a little more spin and distance and see if they help...

Disagree....it is a HUGE difference. Not only the forgiveness and the sloooow meter speed, but the grip (bs) helps a lot, the ball drop just at the landing, yup, for the players over level 100......wish I had those Vapor but I'm far from the level : /.

Although since I changed from the R11 to the VR Forged at level 97 my GR game has improved enormously and now I can land the ball very close if I ding.

We all knew it, CUT already at 56 only after 2 weeks and with still about 6 weeks to go!!.....geeeez.

Certainly 56 won't hold long, but I wonder, will 55 do in the end?...I predicted the cut to be 54 somewhere before in the thread, I might be right finally...LOL

I'm leaning towards 55 but think it'll be close.  Certainly don't see it dropping to 54.  I think most of the usual suspects have already got a sub 55 score in and it would need another 116 to do the same.

Really,  I don't see it....I have the Vapors, Lvl 97 Nikes, and the R11's, and have played all 3 at Chambers...the only difference I see is meter speed, and forgiveness...the 3i/4i in all 3 sets will stop  on a flat green the same elevation w/ full b/s...main difference is more dings(or shots hit exactly before or after ding), now Vapor short irons with full b/s are a different story...

the only reason I switched to Vapors was I bought the new wedges and the Vapors made all my clubs the same meter speed, plus the Vapors are  more forgiving on slight mishits...as far as stopping 1 seems as good as the other to me....now for me, the Nikes are slightly shorter than r11's with f/b/s which should translate into more spin, but I can't see it in a round, then again my game is so erratic it doesn't surprise me at all...lol

I'll put it this way, I think I only have 1 round with less than 2 eagles, I've had 4 eagles five times, and three out of four rounds with 3 or 4 of them, all using the slope behind the pin on #4 #12 #18 or chipping in...so I play it that way, I don't even try to shoot at the pin...it's the par 3's on the back 9, and several par 4's that kill my rounds.....

I think my last round yesterday was 4 eagles, 6 birdies, 7 pars, 1 bogey...lol
