    fatdan:

The only difference between my Nike Vapors and ur R11's is forgiveness and meter speed...

I also have r11's and practiced with them  and we both use lvl 61 nike ball, they have plenty of spin...try a sleeve of lvl 81's with a little more spin and distance and see if they help...

L97 VR Forged and L100 Vapors are both rated at 4.5 spin to the R11's 4.0. I'm just saying I have never gotten a 3i on #18 to stop as quickly as you did in that replay. It could just be landing in the right spot.

IMHO the L100s have slightly higher trajectory at least, and even more spin in actuality all as compared to the L97s.  The L90 ball teamed with the L97s plays cunningly similarly to the L100s with the L81 Nike.  The L90 R11s ain't going to be far behind anything stopping power wise, and arguably with say a L90 ball at least near as good as the L100s with a L81 ball........Frikin fine lines, and one tough hole.  I doubt any one is stopping it s they would like to each time there....2 foot more stays up, and 4 foot less might run out of pace and stay a good distance away.......Gimme bird, but eagles not so (and thankfully really).  Dan plays a L61 Nike, and those R11s with a higher spin ball well......can't believe the stopping power is questionable.  Need some luck for a real low round for us mere mortals, but after L90 I don't think the equipment stopping power not being available is the issue.

Now that the slow meter boost is in play ...

Not that the  cheat  boost has anything to do with it, but there's only 48 more 55's or better before the cut drops another stroke ... it's unbelievable how low the cut is going this year and 40 days left to qualify.

I thought 55 was always likely safe.  Dropped to 54 I would have had another go, but this time WGT have ruined what was a real fun thing, and used to count for something........BRILLIANT.  Short term, short sighted sugar boosts.  Is the bank threatening to close them this month??????????

One flippin once a year superb thing, and the new drongos at WGT can't even resist stuffing that up...........

Davis Cup separately - Superb Event.  Half the field already gone, and the other half have got CE waiving in front of their face from the Company.  Now OK to use providing you slip WGT the extortionate lump of the dosh guv.

Two guys showing WGT how to really get the members up for an event, not the silly crap some drongo at the new fast dosh ideas dpt calls the clash.........and those WGT drongos (well whoever there is actually responsible for it) are allowed to do that to it........Shameful.

Absolutely agree, managed to make the cut last year and was really pleased, felt like I'd achieved something. Managed a 55 in this one after about 20 rounds and plenty of restarts, but..................even if that makes the cut it will not feel nearly as special due to this nonsensical new cash grab.

If I am right it is down only 37 players need to shoot 55 or better for the cut to drop to 55...about 10 of the name at 56 right now should have no trouble shooting under 55...then add the slow meter boost on a critical shot or 2...

I don't see it going sub 55 though....

Let's look at it this way...

as of today 1/3 (20 days) of the qualifying time is done, another 2/3 (40 days) to go. 46 players have shot 54 or better. That means another 110 players would have to do the same. Given the amount/quality of players that have already shot 54 or better and set the foundation, I personally don't see how 110 more will to move the cut under 55.

I don't see the cut being anything different than 55. However I do see a few extra people getting in with the new focus boost...

Can't speak for anyone else, but have totally lost interest in the VUSO qualifying and in the tourney itself.

I don't think the slow meter boost will have any effect on the outcome of the qualifier. I tried it on the 3rd hole, and it just messed me up.

    Just my opinion though.

It must be working for some, as they are buying them by the dozens
