US Open qualifier....IS ON!

  I thought 55 was always likely safe.  Dropped to 54 I would have had another go, but this time WGT have ruined what was a real fun thing, and used to count for something........BRILLIANT.  Short term, short sighted sugar boosts.  Is the bank threatening to close them this month??????????

  Absolutely agree, managed to make the cut last year and was really pleased, felt like I'd achieved something. Managed a 55 in this one after about 20 rounds and plenty of restarts, but..................even if that makes the cut it will not feel nearly as special due to this nonsensical new cash grab.

  i feel the same exact way, 57 last year 55 this year last year was way more satisfying

  Phew, got my 54.

  17 birds and 1 par. 

  Man, it got interesting. Needed 3 birds out of the last 4 to make 55 after a severe misdinger on an 11 feet birdieputt on no 14. Not often one feel a little bit of anxiety playing these golfholes.

  15 feet down/side curler on 15 from short right, then 8 feet another curler short left on 16. 17 stiffed and 18 standard.

  The cut will be 55, shifting from 56 to 55 in around 14 days

  Now I just need galeforce wind, total backtees and uneven lies in the real US Open to have a chance or else just accept position 80....

  I agree, I do not understand it. I have played the course 3 or 4 times, once in the open. I could spend 20 bucks on the off chance I could qualify.....but I am not that stupid.

  But on principles, why would you expect players to have any when the company has none?

  Forgive me...this may be a little off-topic, but I was peeking at the cut makers (congrats to one and all !) and I noticed a name from long, long ago "Thunderbird !!" he was a player's player many years back, many moons...shoot, been here since June 2007 ! Great to see. Really terrific !  That's all ;-}

  S'right Al , whacked 2 Alt  'Chambers'?...and an UEL with Konrad B9, after Oak match UEL, and He asked me " are you going to try to qualify ? "

  The answer was a resounding "NO"...They, WGT move the goalpost during...their lack of follow through is deceitful at best, rules they set are broken by themselves....."so why now ?" I said...

  The Company as a whole has a disgraceful track record in customer service, AND I as one of the disregarded, take umbrage !

  The Nike putter increments and focus boost debacle in ONE update, ARE, just 2 glaring examples of said such ?

  Only reason I'm playing the qualifier now is that I like the course.  Snagged an albatross at #4 tonight (second one on that hole, would love to make it a habit) which I managed to offset with 3-putts at #8 and #12.  Holed the PW approach to #14 for eagle and pitched in for birdie at #17, was a crazy round.

  If I do by some freak of nature post a qualifying score in the next few weeks (56 looking dead in the water, 55 will probably make it) would love to see all who qualify just sit it out and refuse to play the tourney...I do believe wgt might take notice of an empty leader board and maybe, just maybe, reflect on why so many of their moves are curious to say the least and why they tend to infuriate so many of us.

  The chances of a major tourney boycott are slim to none, of course, but wouldn't it be a great way to get their attention...

  Sad fact is that if you took any short time to get used to a CE speed, whether it's the one issued by WGT now or a third party  you could chit 55s, and 54s or less hardly be rare.  Same as me and same as many here................I never used the free version, leave that to sad lil tick turds who grind with no fun for that pay, and I sure as heck won't be using WGTs dream chit.

  Other once immense golf games have gone down the pan before, and they had greater minds than the lame duck school kid morons  coming up with this junk.  One fast idiotic  $ scam too far this one.  Desperation or rank idiots with some power who knows, but for the game it's dreadful.  

  One flippin once a year great event, and the rank idiots can't even leave that alone.  If the cut drops to 54 they can shove it that's for sure.  I lucked out early with a 55, and would have had another go but now no way.
