Anyone else having trouble with the #15 and #16 greens at Chambers?

I was just sitting 9ft from the 15th pin, well on the green according to all the maps and it said I was in the fringe...then the grid showed the 9ft putt to have about 1 1/2 cups r to L break that missed by 3/4 of a grid left....had no idea how the return putt would break and missed it too...LOL

Then get to #16 and hit a terrible 9i approach but the 17ft birdie putt showed it was straight in...lol...well it not only missed left by almost a full grid square, it went 7 ft by the hole...

Thats 2 days in a row I got to 15, -13, trying to post a 55 or 56, only to get reamed by those same 2 holes...

Seems like we scored to low on the new course yesterday, distances were all over the place today for me...

15 i tried too play long since theres that ridge short which stops everything.

16 the green is all slopping from left too right so its a fairly tricky green. i found leaving it too the right of the pin and a tad short leaves a easier putt than going a little long.

I think the good news is both holes play to basic elevation yardage calcs.

Best thing is to go to Community Link, pick the holes and knock it around so you know which part of the green you are comfortable putting from / how best to end up there.

Qualifying conditions it's one of those courses where a really low score is so possible, but so easy to walk away empty handed - obviously I guess.  Good luck with future efforts

EDIT: Again perhaps obvious, but always a good idea for most of us to not really try until we have the "feel" of those greens ingrained.  Coming of another course / speed I think lessens the chance of that crucial tricky dropping.  After all that just need that bit of luck.  For once my bit came early, well, unless the cut drops to 54 but I would be v surprised if the drive is there to do that.

Yikes....only after 4 days the cut is at 58!!!...LOL

Some good scores of fair players and several unfair players already there......nah, lets fight the bad guys, it is more fun : )))

Still thinking this will end up in 54, if not lower ; ), so I need to do some more rounds.

Strange there are not 52's yet?!, like if something is not right....lol

    Eric

edit...having GREAT fun playing alternates there from loooooong tees : )))

    Virtual U.S. Open Qualifier

************ the top 156 scores (plus ties) will advance to the Virtual U.S. Open Championship tournament, to compete for a second Grand Prize trip to the 2016 U.S. Open. *************

Have a sleeve of whatever our usual is that 55 is plenty if ya like:)......No doubt some crazy low scores to come, but qualification wise 55 tops, IMO.  56 possible, but looking precarious already.

    Golly, I suppose, as usual, a cut line at 54 is a possibility, yet one that seems very far fetched. Anyone who has gone low must admit that the difference between a 56-57 and a 54 is giant. Reality can be rude as I accept it. I won't qualify. It's a simple fact of life. Why? I'm not good enough. ;-}
