hole 1 @ chambers bay

  WGT please do the right thing and not make hole1 @ chambers bay 560 when its fully released, with slight wind in your face, even 8mph low wind it doesnt play properly, it will turn into another hole like the 4th at pinhurst where you cant have a putt for birdy.

  the us open it is going to be around 505yd

  I'm positive WGT tries to compensate the easiness of the game by making holes more difficult than they are in reality. We got better tools (fake tho) than the pros and can reach greens if favorable wind.

  Same happen at Oly hole 1 & 16, Pines hole 4 and now Chambers hole 1.

  I rather see equipment with less distances and low properties... and keep the holes as realistic as possible.

  Well m8, we almost talking silly here, the last thing WGT think would be using time to correct mistakes or issues, business is running great anyways no matter how many times we mention or complain about the issues.

  yeah i know its 560 for the back door ranked strokeplay and uneven strokeplay but its a better hole from the master tee when playing alt shot and the us open qualifying.

  when i asked a source what the yardage will be when its fully released they said "i dont know right now" so maybe they haven't set the yardage in stone for that hole.

  when i start that hole and see a bad wind its soul destroying

  Hi Marty,

  Everything that I am seeing is showing that if you are playing from the back Tees, its going to be ~560 yards, pending on if they add any additional tee locations in the future.

  AFAIS, the real USO will play #1 sometimes as 598 yds Par 5, but only 496 as a Par 4, in swing with #18 for a combined Par 9 rating.

  Similar to last year at PIN, when WGT took the length of #4 from the 1999 USO (Par 5) and combined it with the new layout as a Par 4, "forgetting" that it would play much shorter during the 2014 competition.

  These details mark an unfortunate change against the former habit to painstakingly reflect the USO conditions, as seen @ BPB #1, #7, #15.

  Even at OLY, the numbers appear to be correct. I've seen 520 yds for the real #1 (533 here), and there's a perfect match of real and virtual setting for #16 at 650 yds. Only at OLY #2, the scorecard lengths don't match with the virtual display, not even reaching the green from the short tees.

  Icon confirmed last year that there will be no correction to PIN #4, and I don't expect any change now. 

  I conceed that it's particularly difficult here with the variable setting, and a reaction to the extremely low scores may have a reason, but some of the "realism" feeling is lost.

  After all, it's a game, and I like CHA despite the beatings it provides to me.

  I see you new in the game Sham, as you commented earlier.

  WGT will not make any changes at the tee distances. WGT answered negative to some tee changes request by members made sometime ago, I can understand, just to much hazard and man costly work....sorry to say it but that is unfortunately for us, WGT view of how to make business.

  Hole 4 at Pines was actually a yardage mistake WGT never corrected from the original par 5, WGT admitted.

  Yes, this is a game and even tho WGT is trying to keep it real in terms of yardage, it does not work together with WGT equipment properties.

  As said before, our tools are way too good for the game and no matter how long and unreal the yardage is in WGT, we will score lower & lower, as ridiculous and, again unreal, as is it now........after all this is only a game, take it or live it.

  Let me put it this way: take the start equipment and try the Virtual Open at Chambers. A mix of master tees and legend tees make it not so unfair for the starter equipment. The challenge would be awesome.....but that does not work here in WGT, the super duper WGT equipment is there, at an expensive cost indeed, but ready to almost anyone.

  lol, i cant see WGT ever adding more tee locations, once they fully release the course its set in stone, the only thing they can do is move the legends to the master tee.

  i like this description of the first hole from the hole info on WGT "The par-4 opening hole at Chambers Bay provides a very manageable start to the round". they forgot to add wind depending lol

  its weird they used the master tee for the qualifying and for alt shot but the legend tee for strokeplay multiplayer .

  i have got two different answers from Forum Mods so ill have to wait and see when its fully released.

  whatever happens, happens, its just a shame when playing moderate wind and you get a bad direction on the first its going to mess up your round, every other hole seems fine in Mod wind and is enjoyable.

  P.S its a great course, ill just have to practice a lot on the 1st to get the par with the tough wind

  a bit off topic but the 4th will play tough for the pros as its a 495 par 4, im sure it will be one of the toughest holes, dont know why we have it as a par 5 but im glad to have a good fun par 5 on wgt that is reachable in two and is even more fun on uneven but still a birdy/eagle hole
