I bought new clubs today and tried them out on Kia-back 9. I have never had many meter problems but today it was dancing up a storm + stopping and stalling. On one putt the meter stalled I swung it made the ball strike sound charged me a stroke and the ball didn't move a millimeter. I'm going to loose interest fast if this keeps up.

Ok , for proof that the meter is rendered locally. I just got high speed cable internet installed yesterday afternoon. The cable modem is sitting on top of my PC making it easy to see. It has 5 lights on front Those lights are pc cable data send data receive and power. During the entire swing and meter rendering neither data light is on. meaning no data is being sent or received. As soon as I click the make the shot both data lights light up for an instant. The send light  lighting up a fraction of a second before the receive light  lights up. Proving at least to me that the meter is rendered locally from my flash cache or browser cache or maybe a combination of  both. But in no way does WGT play  a part in the actual swing meter  until after the shot has been played. Then WGT sends the data for the result of the shot. If there are any sever issues it is the sending of the shot results data that would be slowed down or stuttery.

Of course the meter is rendered locally, the question is: Is there other activities that could interfere while you are making a shot? Activities that is unrelated to the swing but triggered by an event such as, for instance, a chat message or establishing a new connection to download a part of the next course or another players new position. Flash is not that good in keeping threads separate and run completely individual, partly because of the nature of the browser themselves and the security rules that a computer forces a online application like WGT to obey.

I am not saying there is any easy solutions, I am just saying that the likelihood that the game is already optimized and perfected absolutely to the limits of it's environments are close to zero. It never is. If it was, it will not have a "beta" sign on it and it would never need to be updated. So far there is no computer program that good.

Ive said before in these forums,Chat,,Pms  Friend list activity and stroke play or ready go results coming through to your profile page all cause meter interferance,Thats a FACT, i seen this for 12 months ,But people who are much clever than me say its not possible,,How many times did Tibbets clear his friend list? There is your proof that just 1 of my facts exsist,But whether wgt are capable of resolving this is another issue,Perhaps they know that my opions are true but cannot resolve them,If that is the case then it would be nice if we were told this and then we can just get on with it,without trying to put ideas forward that are rebounding off a brick wall,:)

It is certainly possible. Unless the game ignores them they will lead to activity and that activity will "steal" CPU power from other activities. That is not only a possibility, it is a certainty.

Now I am just a common man - but what I does is when the game window pop-up loads up, I then close my original browser.

I thinks this helps with the friends coming off and on and other wgt page activity that use up yer resources and whatnots.

    Sincerely, Yancy

The things making for meter stutter are the flash animations going on within the game-client. The clubs name changes, and the ball name changes when we use the spin option. If a person tries to swing while these animations are in motion, their going to get a meter stutter every-time. Flash needs to to settle-down, and make ready for the next command. A slower rate of play would reduce meter problems considerably for a lot of members.

There are many, many reasons that will cause Adobe flash to skip, to say it's the servers isn't one of them. The Adobe flash forums are a good place to read about the many bugs within the flash platform.

There are free downloads to speed-up information packets sent to and from the servers like Leatrix Latency fix. Members can also choose to download a free Internet accelerator to speed-up their Internet connection. These things work and will make for a better playing experience if members are having connection issues. Google search them.
