    Corwyn:
I feel bad that this aspect of the TIO events has taken players by surprise, and that the screenshot requirements seem too difficult for many players. This has turned into much more of a headache than I thought possible

Yup Mags called it right, the toughest part this month seems to be 'getting' the proof and even remembering to get it for some, and there are still Ineligible 'cards' coming in both comps......even after seeing others before doing it correctly.

Prizes will go to 'proper posted cards' this time NOT best scores !!  lol

What surprised me was the amount of ppl not au fait with screenshots, thought I was the only computer dinosaur out there....  :-)

    Obviously not !

    Corwyn:

Sorry to hear that mm  :(

I did try and make it as clear as possible in the opening Forum Thread post:

Which I didn't read because I already know all the rules. ;)

I still had my scorecard up when I posted that, but you can't go back and look at the clubs once you hole out the last shot. I'll try to do better on the St. Andrews tournament today.

    Corwyn:
P.S. I was very pleased to come back from my trip and see you'd won the July Glenmorangie VT event at Legend level. Congrats on such a big win!

Thank you very much! I'm sure you weren't the only top legend to miss the tournament, but it still felt pretty good... especially after holing the winning shot.

*** Remember, to be in the running for any prizes, you must take and post either a VIDEO record or SCREEN SHOTS with PROOF OF CLUBS used, along with both f9 & b9 CARDS and all the STATS!!!!! (see post below for details) ***

Well as i see it, you have two ways to go. We continue as now and have probably 95% of the players not knowing they have to post screen cards to have a chance to win anything.

Other option is to go back to run it as an all forum tourney aka, no tourney entry from tournaments.

Obviously there is another way but since this is wgt and the chance that they actually would fix a problem is far fetched, so its not worth mentioning.

Here is a link to my video. I think I got everything correct except forgetting to hover over the specialty clubs. I remembered at St. Andrews.

Thanks for hosting these tournaments and I'm hoping for improved play in the future.

Unfortunately that's the key requirement, Daniel :(

If offering video proof, all we need is a hover over the 3W and 3H clubs (which will show 'WGT Starters' as their designation and their distance ratings) [Hovering over the bag is enough to show SW and LW which is enough to prove that fancy wedges weren't used].

With Video, you could also click on your player name, to take you to the Profile, and then click on Equipment to show all the clubs.

    -------------------------------

FYI: I've created the Stats Spreadsheet for this tourney and examined every post so far in the thread. We have 8 players who have made posts without acceptable club proof, and 7 that have provided proof of clubs (with one video still to come from Jay).

Also, I'm going to throw in a sleeve prize for each of the following:

    1) Highest overall percentage of Greens in Regulation   SPONSORED: Corwyn

    2) Closest Ave. Distance to the Hole        SPONSORED: Corwyn

    3) Greatest overall total distance made putts.      SPONSORED: Corwyn

Just the rest of today and all of tomorrow left to post a first-round score (and full set of pics/vid as proof of clubs along with cards and stats).

Running it just through the forum wouldn't change anything. For sponsors to feel okay about giving out prizes (and for me to feel OK asking for sponsorships), we have to have confidence that no-one's cheating (regardless of how they find the event, via the forum or the game client tournament list).

To win Stats prizes, we've always asked for screenshots (or video): the only difference now is we know we need proof of clubs as well as the Cards and Stats. I had hoped one Greenshot with a Bag Hover would work, but it seems this is too complicated for many to achieve, even with the example how-to videos etc.

P.S. Players should always read the rules/tournament description in order to find out about prizes that might be on offer. I'm sure most are playing the event for fun and not worrying about prizes at all...

... and to be honest, despite all the problems in the thread, the best thing about these events is that players get a chance to experience the courses in a new way with a different challenge.

Actually, I'm still holding out hope that WGT will fix the problem. If they can get the restricted-clubs thing right, then it really could be a money-maker for them, opening up the possibility of having tournaments with certain club combinations that players might purchase (again) in order to feel like they had a chance to compete.

I know it's been suggested by Ben (bhoese) that we just accept WGT's programming limitations and work with what we've got, allowing players to fill the first section of the bag however they wish. My concern with this is that it would no longer resemble Tough-It-Out, in fact, it's hardly tough at all, since on many holes (even from the tips) they can be played very easily for par with a fancy Driver or 3W and advanced wedges. There's no longer the risk/reward considerations that are key to making these tournaments interesting to play.

Just saw the replay. Wow! What a great feeling to get a hole-out as the winning shot on the final day of such a big event.

    Sorry. Forgot to post it.

Thanks Jay! Your data is now in the spreadsheet too.

P.S. Very fun to see your Chambers Bay B9 25 in under 5 Minutes video. Perhaps you should set up a tourney to see who can post a video of the lowest 9-hole score in less than 5 minutes (player gets to choose course and set-up themselves). Might be a good one for one of Icon's WGT challenges...

Since I was having so much fun playing I completely forgot about all that proof of not cheating screenshots. Therefore consider me a cheater even though I did not cheat.

Hope this is sufficient, played better at SA but missed the cut on the equipment verification.
