We are aware of the issue of the payouts showing that way.  It is something we are working to get fixed.  As to why you came in second, the Tiebreaker came into effect.  It can be read about in the FAQ.

In the event of a tie, the better scoring entrant between or among the tied entrants will be the entrant with the lowest combined score for the final nine (9) holes of the Game. If any ties remain, the better scoring entrant between or among the remaining tied entrants will be the entrant with the lowest combined score for the final six (6) holes for such Game. If any ties remain, the better scoring entrant between or among the remaining tied entrants will be the entrant with the lowest combined score for the final three (3) holes for such Game. If any ties remain, the better scoring entrant between or among the remaining tied entrants will be the entrant with the lowest score for the 18th hole (9th for nine hole games) in such Game, and any remaining ties will be determined by identifying the lowest scoring entrant for each individual game hole, in sequence from 17th (8th for nine hole games) through to 1st, as is necessary to determine a winner, and if any ties remain at that point, the earlier-submitted entry between or among the tied entries will be deemed the better scoring entry.

If multiple people tie for a place, the percentages for those places will be added up and divided by the number of people who tied for the place. For example, if three people tie for 2nd place, the percentages for 2nd, 3rd and 4th place will be totaled up and divided by three. Each player would receive the same amount. 5th place will then get the correct 5th place percentage.

Not that I remember what my scorecard was since it was only 9 holes......or his for that matter... your support team said it was a "standard tie rule"  so they corrected it

They gave you credits for joint 1st?  If so I strongly suspect they were wrong to.

There is always a winner of a tournament this standard tie rule is only for places.  If there had been three scores of 28 there should be a winner (who gets 1st place credits) and two players joint second (who share 2nd and 3rd place credits).

DodgyPutter is correct.  I tied for 1st place in the WK33 free Multiround Best of Par 5 (Tour Master Tier), and lost it on the tie breaker rule.  I was awarded 2nd place and paid 2nd place credits.  I was also moved up to Legend Tier as a result of that tournament, even though my average was above 63 at the time.

If you look at Tournament leader boards, there often will be a "LEADER" at the top, and 1 or more players in 2nd place with the same score.  This is all due to the Tie Breaker Rule.

and you trust their scorekeeping?  lol   no way for us to tell who won since we can't see the other players scorecard...   "This is all due to the Tie Breaker Rule" .... OR it is that we have to "trust" the computer software to make the decision....I doubt very seriously it "knows" who made the best score out of the last few holes..it just randomly picks a winner or it is just another glitch.. these tourneys are way too small to be splitting up percentages like that. If a player gets first and ties it should be split evenly (that's fair)...all it knows is final score and randomly picks the last player (that ties) that enters the tourney i feel sure...like the last player to enter will always be on top...seen it a hundred times in CC tourneys where it just randomly picks the last entry and puts him in 1st....and it did the same here..I was in 1st and by myself until he tied me so it put him in1st on top of me.... they have these tie breaker rules for gigantic tourneys...like a trip to the Bahamas or something.. and that would be determined manually by looking at the scorecard.....I know i would be highly pissed if i couldn't at least see the other player's scorecard to see why I lost in a "BIG" tourney to a tie breaker rule. You watch the CC tourneys and you will see it always puts the last entry on top if he ties..every time.

I'm new to these monthly tourney payouts as this is the first time i've scored well that actually held up..especially in single play. i will be checking to see if the winners are determined not only by their score but by what date the score was posted on that players profile....It will pick the latest entry that tied and put that player in 1st and us dumb people will never know the difference.  lol

Please understand that I'm not trying to beat you up about your beliefs, and I'm sorry you feel WGT conspires to stick it to the scoring leaders.  But I can't see a big WGT plan to do that.

Unfortunately, since you yourself can't remember your score card, it's a moot point now.  As to CC Tourneys, I am my CC's Tournament Director and I compete in most of the ones my CC runs.  I also keep watch on results and I haven't seen it do "every time" what you say you "always" see it do, put the last score posted to the top.  In fact, quite the opposite.

If you read the "How are ties handled" again, you will see that it would  require each player to shoot exactly the same score on each hole for there to be a complete tie that would go to the earliest score posted tie breaker.  Not likely to happen.

To answer your question about trusting the score keeping, I think it would be fairly easy to program the software to search and compare the scorecards to follow the Tie Breaker sequence.  I personally don't see why WGT would play games with the score keeping.  It would bring into question the results in all tournaments, RGs, and Brackets as well as the complete Virtual Tour results.  There is no benefit to them to do that.

You could always ask a Mod to explain why they choose this system instead of splitting winnings evenly between the top scores.

    Hello Michael,    ....That's me   MTBR

Thank you for reporting this. It definitely looks like it has a standard tie rule so no reason why you should not get the same prize. I went ahead and added 144 credits to make your payouts the same.

Please let us know if you have further issues.

Thank you for playing World Golf Tour.
