What we must remember is that wars are made by some people who know themselfs very well and hate (even they are the same family as King Georges V, Keiser Guillaume II and Tsar Nicolas II  whose were all descended from Queen Victoria).

Let me see and understand why Canadian, Australian, Indian, Chinese, Senegal, Algeria and others people including  US, French,  English,  and others ... Must die on French territory..

As we say in France, alls our véterans have accept to give their life for " la der des ders" what mean the last of the last war.

We have to recognize that was a joke and they died for nothing , this does not detract from their merit and heroism.

As evidence the 11 november 1918  armistice was the seeds of the 2nd World War, Cold War and the dismantling of the Ottoman Empire failed.

As a Canadian this day is always tough to take in. Watching all the old faces in their uniforms stand up and salute, i get chills and tears in my eyes for many reasons. Without them, i wouldn't be free in this beautiful Country of mine. It sickens me how society as degenerated into nothing but greed; and a narcissistic ideal. Paying homage to the ultimate sacrifice a human being can display - courage and a willingness to die for a cause is the least my generation can do. From Dieppe, Somme, and Vimy Ridge, right through to Normandy and the deserts of Afghanistan, I salute, I love, and I Remember, Thank You, Thank you so much. Cheers, K.

Happy Veteran's Day to everyone around the world who has had the privilege of stepping up.

Because that's what it is. It's an honour and a privilege to do that.

Not too many people run towards the gunfire.

Many did, many were maimed, and many paid the ultimate price and we owe our freedom from tyranny to them.

It is our duty to give them the honour they deserve.

Speak to a veteran, listen to how he/she talks. Realise that it was never about them, it was always about their team.

We have to honour everyone, in every country, who has chosen to step up and defend RIGHT.

--- While trying to find the words I wanted to say here, I found this quote which is well worded & rings true for myself. Finding the proper words to thank Veterans for myself has always been difficult for myself, perhaps that explains the importance of the ceremonies that take place.

    petervcpt:

    Have a great day Veterans!

    Sincerely, Yancy

THX petervcpt for letting me quote your words.
