    fmagnets:
A new under par UEL record (excluding Bo5) as far as I know, a -20 Cabo 52.

    WOW !!!  Congratulations.

    Superb achievement. Bravo Mags!

... I guess my 78 (approx.) won't be winning that UEL RG then, lol.

A birdie-free 76 with only two putts made from outside 5 feet.

There were no notably good or bad shots until the 10th, aside from a meter stop on #5 resulting in a yanked approach and failed up-and-down.

Saved par on #10 with a wedge to 3 feet. The meter skipped on the approaches to #11 and #14, not to mention several putts - perhaps I should have restarted the browser, but I was lazy. I also missed a 5-footer for birdie on #15.

On #18 I tried to play 5 yards short as usual, but my 3 wood came in hot and ran through the green. But thanks to the Very Fast 10 greens, it's not impossible to get it up and down from back there.

    Played well again

Half the holes played as par 5's (holes # 1,2,4,5,8,9,12,15,16) and scored 40 on those 9 "par 5's". Therefore only bogeyed 2 holes #7 and #10.

Corwyn - great tournament and thank you for all your work.

The tourney ended last night, and huge congratulations to fmagnets on a very impressive 4-shot win over a very strong field. Bravo Mags!

Once again, our winner is the only player to aggregate par or better for the event, making Mags a true Tough-It-Out champion. I believe this is Mags' first clear Tough-It-Out win: a long-time coming for the most consistent top-5 finisher of the year.

    Corwyn:
Please forgive me if I can't get to the stats sheet promptly this month... with Christmas and some family travel it will be a challenge.

I was away for a few days but have just managed to catch up with all the club proof/card/stat submissions posts so far on the Special Prizes Stats spreadsheet

I believe I've captured everything but please check to make sure there are no mistakes or omissions. You have until midnight Sunday Dec 27 to submit any late cards/screenshots and/or correct errors on the sheets.

AdamK70 is missing R2 and xxxhogheadxxx is missing R1, and there may be others out there as well.

On the spreadsheet, I've marked the current front-runners in each category with a yellow highlight, with the next placed players marked with a light blue.

    -----------------------

    LEADERBOARD PRIZES:

A sleeve (sent by WGT) goes to each of the top 5 verified finishers on the final leaderboard (i.e. those who provided club proof for both rounds). These are certain at this point, and they are: fmagnets, ColumbusStorm, OleFernando, StrollinAlong, lisalovesthesun.

Note: with ColumbusStorm's par on the last for a 73 (drat!) he denied 3 other players a tied 5th sleeve, including yours truly, lol!

    -----------------------

    SPECIAL PRIZES:

These were the sponsored prizes (fuller report and wrap-up will follow next week). The winners are noted below and their results are shown in the Stats Spreadsheet for the tourney:

Note: these may change based on any late entries!

    1) Highest overall % of GIR  (tiebreaker: Ave Distance to Pin)    SPONSORED: Corwyn   CURRENT LEADER: fmagnets with 61.5%

    2) Closest Ave. Distance to the Hole              SPONSORED: Corwyn   CURRENT LEADER: OleFernando with 13.3ft

    3) Greatest overall total distance made putts    SPONSORED: razza31        CURRENT LEADER: StrollinAlong with 200.51ft

    4) Longest putt made         SPONSORED: alcaucin   CURRENT LEADER: CJMolander with 34.3ft

    5) 'Sticking With It Award'  (highest scoring finisher that posts all cards&stats)    SPONSORED: Ianzzz   CURRENT LEADER: razza31 with 165

    7) Most Number of Birdies or Better  SPONSORED: fmagnets  CURRENT LEADER: HoylakeHunter with 9

    8) Most 1-Putt Saves (as determined by scorecard)   SPONSORED: Corwyn   CURRENT LEADER: StrollinAlong with 13

    9) Best Average Scrambling Award (as determined by stats)  (tiebreaker: Most1PuttSaves unless same winner)   SPONSORED: Ianzzz   CURRENT LEADERStrollinAlong with 74%

If prize-winners (certain and prospective) could also please post their desired sleeve(s), that would be great. Thanks!

    -----------------------------------------

Thank you so much to all our very generous sponsors this month, and to all who participated in the event. This was almost certainly the largest field that TIO has ever had: the players in tied 246th place shot 174 (only 32 shots back), and I noticed 219 as the low score on the leaderboard just before the leading scores disappeared from p5 on Sun at 6am with 4 days play left.

We also had 17 full and complete club proof/card & stats submissions (with presumably at least 2 more to come), and only 4 incomplete ones (or that didn't meet the proof requirements).

    ----------------------------------------

Look out for a full wrap-up sometime early next week, after the Sunday midnight submission deadline... and a tourney at Whistler next month.

Note, I'm also thinking of running some form of special TIO team matchplay event on the front 9 at Pebble in January, so please do look out for that.

And finally, a very Merry Christmas to you all!
