Random? Really? I'd love to see the RNG that WGT uses as it has become predictable. Winds at 2 on Pebble are usually left to right is one of the more glaring examples

This has been an issue with me on all courses, inconsistent wind stinks. I can't understand why WGT does not have programming where the true full course layout is effected by wind from a constant speed and direction for a given round. That is how golf is, a course has given wind conditions for the day, not each hole. In this manner wind would balance out after 18 holes; on 9 holes it could be tough as some courses like St. Andrews play out then back in, but regardless it is reality. Cant be that tough to figure out.

FYI on Pebble in real life, since it runs parallel to the ocean , with an onshore wind 10 holes are generally crosswind, 3 holes tailwind and 5 into the wind.

Yep,  gets old after a while.   I think it's worse as you move up in tiers too.  I'll join a round and all too often someone in the lobby will say something like, " great, a TL is here, time for shi.tty winds".  LOL

Headwinds and crappy crosswinds are so much the norm that I usually play a hole badly when I do get the random tailwind.  grrrrrrr

Not on any real golf course I ever played, including Pebble Beach.

Don't forget it can take up to 5 hours to play 18 holes on a real golf course, and with real wind has to go around/over/through trees, hills, and other things on a golf course which also changes wind speed and direction.

Plus the time of day you play also generally entails different wind and green conditions (moisture content, grain, and grass height). So in a tournament those who tee off early usually encounter different conditions than those last to tee off.

But you don't have say the first at St Andrew's downwind and then #2 into the wind.

You don't have a left to right wind at #2 at Pebble followed by a right to left on 4. Meteorologically, that would likely indicate there is some type of intense vortex over Pebble such as a tornado with air being drawn into the center, hence the wind on one hole being an offshore wind followed by an onshore wind at 4

Yes you do just like your second example happens. This fact has been beat to death over the years and the answer is always the same-each hole has its own new set of winds, regardless of what you just came from on the hole before.  Ain't gonna change.

p.s., Headwinds are great stopping winds.  :-)

oh they are. However, 9 at Pebble, into the wind in high winds is BRUTAL. Downwind, its a sand wedge and on WGT, we know you can spin wedges crazy downwind

True, most of the holes you can play with about any wind.. I'd prefer headwind on a lot of them...  But #9 you range from struggling to reach the green with a 3wd to a little wedge.
