Hi all.  I’m hoping you can answer a question for me.  Currently I’m level 64 and I’ve found my game leveling off.  I do nicely-my average for master is 69.96 and I’m fairly consistent and shooting par or a few strokes below, but I find it hard to compete in a lot of tournaments.  A number of months ago I bought clubs and that helped bring my game to a new level.  I’m wondering if it”s time to buy new clubs again to keep improving my game?   I like the idea of playing the same brand clubs throughout all of my clubs to keep the same feel.  Basically, when I decided to upgrade my clubs before, I just bought enough credits to do so and will probably do the same thing.  Thoughts? Should I wait for a certain level to upgrade or do it now?  What level clubs do I need to  be playing with?  I’m currently playing with the following clubs:

    Driver:  Taylor Made R1TP 9.0 (Aldila 65 shaft) (L48)

    3 Wood:  TaylorMade RocketBallz 3 (L8)

3 Hybrid (Rarely use):  WGT Starter-19°

Irons:  TaylorMade R11 with steel shafts (L32)

    60° Wedge:  TaylorMade ATV (L39)

    64° Wedge:  TaylorMade ATV (L39)

    Putter:  TaylorMade Spider (L19)

Balls-I use whatever or the basic.

    Thanks!

I would get the Level 59 Ping G25 irons, they will be good for you until you hit Legend or level 85, which ever comes first. The higher ball flight will help you stick the green and with a slower meter and better precision than your current irons.

Drop the hybrid and get the 56 degree ATV. It will be used a lot more than that hybrid ever will. Also, you might want to consider upgrading your 3 wood. Maybe the level 41 R15.

    That's my 2 cents

Your scores look good.  Clubs look good and ball selection is fine.  Looking at your course stats, here is what I am seeing:

    Approach
Green In Regulation %    61.10%    <-- This needs 10% improvement
Avg. Distance to Pin    20 Ft.       -- Good
Holed Approach Shots    28       -- Good
Sand Save %        33.22%         -- Good (but small improvement could help)
    Scrambling %        39.16%     <-- This also needs 10% improvement

If those 2 stats start to show improvement, your bogeys to birdies ratio will improve as well as your overall scores.

Thanks everyone for your input.  I’m going to take a look at the Ping G25’s.  I’m curious why you all think that I don’t need the 3 wood for now.  I use my 3 wood a lot and can’t imagine not having it in my bag.

Hey Coach I replied to Willy's thread over on our CC's forum.  We're close to the same level.  Take a look when you get a chance.

So I was looking at the Ping G25 (L59) irons and I’m thinking about getting them per your advice.  However, I also noticed the Nike Vapor Iron Set (L64+) and in comparing the stats it seems as if the Nike irons might be a little better.  What do you think.  If they are, is the extra 500 credit price tag worth the money or do I get more bang for my back with the Ping irons?  Thanks.

I would still get the Ping G25s. Those clubs are awesome. They took me all the way to Legend.

I would drop the hybrid , it it worthless at any level.

I would upgrade the putter to any level  that you can afford.

3 wedges are the all mighty in this game.

learn them and shave mistakes to easy par saves.

in Irons always look for the high trajectory , medium will not reach the 20 ? feet holes and stop.

the road to legend goes through 59 pings
