To everyone who played in the CC event I ask you this , How much time and money did you invest ? And what did you get out of it ?
In reply to your your questions, I spent approximately 3 hours total playing in the clash. Investment was nothing out of pocket but time. I use theFREE balls we get for entering tournaments and the ones they give us for certain occasions. I use the FREE pass they give every 4 hours and I used one FREE super pass.
What I got out of it was fellowship with my CC mates. You see most of us use a chat service for our club and while we play we chat with each other. Our goal is simple, to have fun and enjoy. In between CLASH rounds we play regular course games, AS or SKINS.
We are a small club, 50 members, and have about a 25%-30% participation in the clash. We do not try to BUY our place in the standings and yet we have placed in the top 25 once, top 50 numerous times, and no less than top 100 ever.
The above are the positives. The following is the negative, and I hope WGT management listens or reads this. Having this event more than 1 time a month gets monotonous. The disparity is evident ergo the reason we don't buy passes. '[ hint: lost revenue] We know we can't compete against the likes of GEORGIANS so we just play for the fun and camaraderie. Many of our members have expressed their sentiments about being out classed and wish that WGT would consider the clash be reasonably fair like having divisions of CC based on size, then it would be more of a contest and may entice more participation ergo more revenue.
We have no rule stating every member HAS to participate in the clash. We have freedom of choice, as it should be. However, uniting as a team has always proven the better goal to achieve rather than being individualistic. Being part of that team instills a sense of unity and pride in working towards a specific goal where there are no losers, everyone wins.
I have read a lot of comments, mostly unfavorable, about the clash on this and other threads like it. To each his own. I will not force my opinion on anyone, suffice to say what encourages participation in our CC will only enhance the experience of belonging to the club.
That, for what it's worth, is my opinion.
