Incidentally , Off-ding lessening the distance is what I rely-on

Pretty much the same for me. I think the only difference is that my off-dinging approach isn't really by choice! :-)

    Jim,

As far as balls go, I do bounce around a little bit, depending what I am doing. However I have done mapping with the different balls and know what % of distance variation I will get.

For important CC and WGT tournaments I use a Nike L61.  For other tournaments I usually use a Cally L33.  And I often use a WGT G13-SV (in pink) for practice rounds.  If the WGT had just a little bit more distance I would use it most of the time.  The first time I played the new Best of Par 4 F9 with that ball I was 6 under, and should have made at least 1 more bird.

As far as the Nike and Callys go, I already play my RSI2 PW with very little spin, as they will back up big time with that club.  Nike VR PW is a little bit less due to less spin built in the club.

Some of my problems are do to being a dinosaur.  Time and gravity do take their toll on the body.  I take that into account.

Bertha has gone - bought R15.

I actually like that Bertha 3-wood. It works well for me. In fact, my experience is that it's been a pretty forgiving 3-wood. And there are times that it works great as a driver. But I think I'm in the minority on that one.

By the way, I've gone back to my Calloways (L33) balls. I found that I really wasn't scoring all that much better with Nikes (L71 or L81) balls. The distance was great, and I hit some great shots with them. But if I can score reasonably well with the Calloways, I'm not going to spend the credits for more expensive balls. At least not now. Maybe down the road.

At least with the Calloways, I don't get as mad at myself when I lose one. :-)

I bought the Nikes at level 85 as a TM, and they certainly helped me get to Legend at level 90. They're great clubs.

Now, having rented and then purchased the Taylor Made level 90s, I have to agree with you. They're getting me closer to the pin, and that's what it's all about.

But I don't regret buying the Nikes at all. There's a lot of golf shots between level 85 and level 90.

    +1

As I got closer to level 85, I started debating whether to buy the Nike irons or wait until Level 90 for the TM irons. Well, when I leveled up to L85, I got the Nike irons as a free two-hour rental. After the rental period expired, I kept getting the purchase message for a bit. One time, I accidentally clicked on "yes."

But I still hadn't really decided if I was going to buy them or wait until I hit Level 90 and get the TM irons. I even sent an email to customer support saying I purchased the irons by mistake. While I was waiting for a response, I thought about it some more and thought "I might as well keep the irons," which I did.

I'm glad I did. As you mention, there's a lot of golf to be played between level 85 and 90. I never regretted purchasing the Nike irons. They were great irons. But now that I have the TM irons, I do like them better.
