This game has forced some of us to be legends when we didnt qualify(I was in the initial group, my average was over a 65)! With that said, when is this site going to make some clubs for legends only??? So sick of competing against Tour Masters with the same clubs and balls, that have less to hit off the tee then legends!  The tiers are fine, but at some point you have to give legends the same chance as a Tour master, which you dont!!!

I don't have all day to play out here like some Legends, so this is time to relax for me. It's very frustrating though when you cant compete cuz your opponent has 50yards less off the tee, is 2 or more lower tiers, but plays the same friggin clubs that you do, not to mention the same balls!!!

Tour masters are gonna stay that, there is no incentive for them to get to Legend, not when you let them play the same equipment!!!  Guess it's all about money and not the fun of your clients!!!!!!!!!!

I have invested well over $1000.00 in my player and for what!!! To get mt *** kicked around by a bunch of sandbaggers!! Give these Tour masters something to play for, dont just give them clubs cuz the reached a certain tier!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Ready to quit and chalk up my losses,

this isnt fun anymore, and god knows I have tried to make the best of it, thx WGT!

First of all, I love your puppy. Such a good looking girl. :)

Here is the thing, I fully sympathize with you. I played STA back 9 with a friend last night in practice mode and posted nice 27. It was nice going back to the old green speed/hole lengths.

But, here is the thing: if you are asking equity, then you are asking basically a 300 driver, which would make longest tees play same as master tees. The problem there is, then there is no difference between tiers, since both will have same distances to the hole just teeing off from different locations. Whats the point of being master then>?

I know you are frustrated and sometimes I am too. I have put some nasty numbers on some holes recently and that never happened off master tees, but I think that;s why you are a legend, thats why the low score you post earn you respect.

    Good luck

Sorry, you're mistaking tiers with levels. Some things on this site(the best balls, drivers, wedges and irons) should have been made only available to legends(a level), not to anyone once the reach a certain tier(80 to get the best driver).

How bout a new line of clubs and balls that are slightly better than the best out here and make them available to LEGENDS only!!!!!!

BTW, I played a PRO out here, tier 80, with the same clubs I use, now thats fair!

Tiers : Hack, Amateur, Pro, Tour Pro, Master, Tour Master, Legend

    Levels : 1, 2, 3, ...

The only thing available for legends only are the top callaway balls which are not very different from the non-legend balls. I think they made the non-legends balls too much efficient, maybe they should have had the old only-legends balls (GI-SD2 and GI2-SD2).

Now, the problem I see with what you said is how you became a legend. Maybe you should ask to become a Tour Master again, although I'm not sure you would get a positive answer.

Cindy, I feel your pain, and understand your point completely. If your playing solely for enjoyment-entertainment, then Icons suggestion about playing practice rounds under the same parameters will level the playing field completely!  You still receive XP's ,the rounds just wont affect your stats.                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                          Let me add this, it is possible to compete under current set up with those lower tiers, (I wouldn't do it for credits) but with the practice needed to make decent long approach shots, and improving your putting skills, you can give them a competitive game. Look at it as a challenge! Or as many do, just dont accept matches with those tiers and only play other Legends!

Cindy, maybe don't play people in a lesser tier. Join a Country Club and play the Club tournaments with people of the same tier and hone your playing abilities. You should still be able to score well on all the courses as a Legend player with the 280 yard driver, the Callaway balls for Legends, and even the original Legend golf balls work well too. New equipment that hits longer isn't the answer for the Legend tier, IMO. It takes sharper skills, i.e., Practice.

A Tour Master hitting from shorter tees shouldn't make a difference to a Legend players Skill. It may look like a Tour Master has an advantage off the shorter tees with the same clubs, but it only seems like an unfair advantage. A lot of the Legend approach shots are 7, 8, 9 iron, and even wedge on over 60% of the holes.

A Legend once told a Master in the forums, "I make more 20 foot putts then you make 8 foot putts". That's the difference Cindy. It takes lots of practice to develop the skills to be a dominant player in the top tier. Its the Legend player that should be the best player in this game. The earnings leader-board certainly does reflect just that.

For me, a Legend player having the ability to belt 350 yard drives on every hole, that isn't skill or a challenge.

I have read a lot of complaints posted in threads about the unfairness of the equipment versus tiers.  In real life the same equipment that PGA golfers use is available to anyone with the money to spend.  Accordingly, it's the same here.  However, things being what they are, it is extremely unfair to Legends.

Take the average golfer with an R9 and Ping G10 irons.  Par is a great thing from the closest tees.  Making GIR is a challenging on most holes.  Now, take the PGA golfer with the same equipment from the back tees.  There is a vast difference in scores with the same equipment from "disadvantaged" tees.  It's very similar to a PGA golfer (the TM here) playing against an amateur (the Legend here) The difference is skill int he real world.  WGT has it reversed.  Especially when it comes to equipment characteristics and/or availability.

To compensate for the skill in this game WGT needs to make some adjustments.  Before September's update the Pro Shop was Tier based.  Why is it not now?  To make it fair there are 3 options:

    1. Make all equipment in the Pro Shop available by Tier, not Level, as it used to be.  The TM's and Masters that currently have the same equipment should have what they've already purchases unavailable until they make Legend.

    2. Release Legend Only equipment that does NOT have a reduced life cycle and a higher price; as is the common practice now; a punishment of sorts for WGT's most dedicated players.

    3. Change the characteristics of the clubs to mirror real life i.e. once a player makes Legend allow clubs to hit longer and have greater ball control and/or shot-shaping.

Yes, it's possible to be competitive against TM's with things as they are.  But, not for the average Legend.  The current system significantly disadvantages the better player.  WGT listened and fixed the Ready-Go's.  How about fixing equipment and the Pro Shop?

    Well?!?

Just to follow up. We will be always adding additional equipment. Some will be for everyone and others locked for certain tiers.

I love this game...no complaints!  However, I am a little concerned about making 'Legend'...It seems, to be 'Legend', you will be overcome with uncontrolable urges to whine and cry about how unfair this game is.  It occurred to me, what is needed in the pro shop is "Legends Only Pampers" and maybe even "WGT Binkies" or "Pedialyte Enerergy Drinks" served in sippy cups.  These new products would, of course, be offered to Legends only because otherwise, it wouldn't be fair.   I look forward to my 'lengendary' advancement and welcome the challenge.   And ne'er, from dchallenger, a complaint shall be heard.

Keep up the GREAT work WGT and Thank You!

If Legend Only equipment was available, like there was Master Only equipment before the change, the complaints would stop.  It did, in all fairness, level the playing field despite a player's tier.  The difference then was a player's skill, not the clubs.  Summarily eliminating the level playing field put it on the newly-tiered Legends to hone their skills even more.  This by no means is an advantageous change for the casual player, except for the TM's and Masters.

That being said, it's easy to "have some fun" with the complaints as you have.  Matter-of-factly, you've no clue what it's like for Legends until you're there yourself.  It's commonplace to call Legends whiners amongst the TM's.  It's kind of like putting the cart before the horse so-to-speak though.  When you've not experienced the basis for the complaints in the first place what ground to you have to stand on?

Mind you, I'm generalizing here and not singling you out.  I made Legend just under a week ago.  I did it intentionally for the challenge knowing I 'd get there eventually.  I have no compliants.  However, I do sympathize with the Legends that are complaining.  When you're used to shooting 30 or less on a good day and suddenly making par is difficult... it's grounds for complaint.  Change is good.  But, drastic change such as this  and the effect it's had is realistically a lot to ask of long-time members.
