I would say more like " The Prudish Elite" Here's the excuse I got for The elitest for to cancel our Match. They think their too good for us. HUH!!

    Hi Clark,

After further discussion with Jeff our Club owner and several of our Club members, at this time, we are respectfully going to decline the CC vs CC tournament we discussed due to player experience discrepancies between our two Clubs. We feel there will be an unfair playing advantage in the tournament based on the experienced players our club possesses. This determination is purely based on each players stats from each CC, and not the individual.

    Thank you for understanding.

    Sincerely,

True Golfers have humility (after all has anyone not been beaten by another or even by the course), a sense of fairplay, enjoy a challenge and above all, the willingness to play against/with those less experienced than themselves so they may pass on what has been learned to the benefit of all.

In my many years of playing golf I have met very few people like this who have this highly inflated opinion of themselves, but this self opinion is due mainly to the amount of hot air with which they are filled.

Clark, I can only imagine your response and no matter how much I would like to kick their ass, I believe that they are not worthy of taking any more of my time or the time of anyone from our honourable club.

Due to unforeseen obligations this Event will be put on hold indefinitely. It has nothing to do with our fine friends over at the EGA or here at TECC. Commitment to other obligations have come up that were not expected. I want to personally thank everyone at EGA for offering us the opportunity to compete. Also,a special thank you to Clark – EGA’s Tournament director. In the future our paths may cross again. edge

    Jellyfish!!

    Dishonourable!!

    Cowardly!!

I think that sums them up nicely!

    Hey guys...

I have not talked to anybody in my country club (The Elite CC) about what has happened here. That being said.... I am pretty good friends with the majority of the members as well as the owner. I am not sure what happened but I would not like anybody in the WGT community to think of me as a prude or a snob or anything else for that matter. First of all... I am simply not good enough to even consider that attitude....lol.. even if I were, I would like to think that I would remain humble as always. Well.. except when I am joking around.. anyway..it has never been a secret as to where I stand on any topic. I simply don't have enough info on this topic to speak intelligently about it.So... I am going to shut up here shortly..... I am sorry that my CC came off as being snobby. Hopefully it is just a misunderstanding.

    Sincerely,

      Speedy

Well, this is the first I've heard of this. First off, no one I know in the club is a prude or snob, well maybe that speedy guy up above me...Anyhow, I would assume the reasoning for this isn't because we are "snobs" or feel that we are better than you. Granted, the wording in the reply to you was rather, ummm, what's a good word here? I don't know, but I can understand your resentment after reading that. That aside, I'm guessing the reasoning was that you have 246 members, of which only FIVE are legends, 35 of our 50 are legends, with only 2 masters, and the rest are tour masters. What kind of competition is it when I'm sure you've got some very good players in all of the tiers who would be teeing off 40+ yards ahead of us? It wouldn't exactly be a fair match,  just like it wouldn't be a fair match for our legends playing from the same tees against your pros/masters/amateurs, it's nothing personal, just my thoughts on it. That said, I'd be glad to play with any of you, I don't discriminate. This could be totally wrong, I do not know, just throwing out an assumption.

What I know is we were sending messages back and forth about the match. Then all of a sudden I see a posting saying, "unforeseen obligation" a reason to cancel. Then, a couple days later, I get the message telling us we are not good enough to have time wasted on. I take that personally. I'm the Team Director for ECGA, and my players are NOT going to be slited in this way and nothing said about it, and in plain view. ECGA has mostly hard working, friendly members. We all enjoy playing here on WGT, win or lose, we enjoy it. The ones who judged us as not worthy, in my mind are way beneath all of us.

corace/ Clark ECGA Team Tournament Director, and damn proud of it!!

You would think the Legends would enjoy the challenge,if you are miffed about teeing off 40 yds behind we could easily have played in practice mode from the Tour Master tees, seems to me you are all just a little insecure in your position as legends if you don't want to play a FRIENDLY match with another CC in case you lose bedcause you had to tee off farther back. Can't see Bollox or Avatar being afraid to play a Tour Master.

Anyway,I wish you no ill will, good luck for the future.
