I remember laughing while watching a PGA tour pro shoot a 10 on #14 in the US Open. Well, the first time I played the hole, guess what... shot a 10!  Now how is that for Karma?  I bet this hole has bit some other players out there.  Can anyone top my 10?  LOL

PS - Uneven lies, of course!

i just went and played 1 hole Pebble #14 par 5

my 2nd ended up just barely on the front left extension of the green.

Cant get to the cup from there, steep uphill left dogleg.

so i figured a 16 yard flop shut should be the perfect layup here.

After hitting the what i thought perfect shut i noticed my ball had moved only about 6 inches bummer.

Subborn as i am i tried 4 more times, with the same results.

I did not know WGT dose not allow flop shuts on the green, should this info not be made public some where?

Well anyway on the last attempt the ball actually run backwards all the way down into the front fringe close to where i had started.

Now from the fringe lie i was able to flop the ball close to the cup as i wanted.

     Made a 9, bummer

WGT has done a fantastic job capturing the toughness of Pebble. I have played it IRL 9 or 10 times. 14 is really tough, all the way, no doubt about it....it also plays uphill. 5 is a tremendous score and tricky hard to get even with all good shots. ~ SP ~

Now you know. Try the full shot next time (hint: double the distance).

And thanks for posting the April '16 issue of this fact - it needs to be published here frequently ;)

And, I dare you for the truth: Have you ever read the full FAQs?

It's just the "gamer" aspect of WGT, i.e. there are aspects to the game that are not officially announced or "given away" but have to be figured out through trial and error, or pointed out by players on the forums, etc.

They have publicized some specific changes in the short game over the years, such as removing the spin option on the green, even if you choose to hit a club other than a putter; changes in putts from the fringe (they used to be nearly impossible); and changes in the chip shot to make it more like a pitch (although frankly I did not notice the difference).

    Cheers.

Well, it wasn't a 10 but 2 Champions and 2 TLs managed to halve that hole with double bogeys!! LOL

Stay out of that trap!  :-)

In my case I fell asleep on my 2nd shot and hit it under a tree on the right.  I punched out and got it up just short of the green but on a severe uphill, sidehill lie.  I tried a pitch shot, it landed short of the hole and rolled back to my feet.  Tried it again with less loft and hit harder - same result.  Tried a punch shot and same result! So now lying 6 and not on the green...  Hit a cut down wedge shot and put it over the green (ticked off now). Pitched on and 2 putted.

Uneven lies can be a real adventure if you get our of position.

This month's (April) latest challenge on Pebble Beach is ridiculous. Tournament 12 with exaggerated slopes, all shots exept of the tee off exaggerated slopes that will fly your ball anywhere but true. Wind speeds that count on some holes but not others indicates either he programming is inaccurate or the progammer is wierd in the head.

Come on WGT - as a Tour Pro level 92  shoot 24 over par is no pleasure so why make the game almost impossile to play? What does that prove?

Are you aware that this is an Uneven Lie tournament?
