  I just heard this one for the first time today.  On a 6 foot putt as it was rolling.

  "Nice bump and run" "Amazing, simply amazing" - algorithm for successful putts from above, say, 40 feet. "Now that's a golf shot" - from a bunker or a terrible lie around the green, leaving a tap-in putt. Most patronizing: "Very nice shot" - approach must end up at least 6 yards from the hole. Followed by "Good ball" - this means you're in the fairway, but with no chance in hell of reaching the green.

  Managed to hole a long putt the other day. I know, miraculous !!

  But I heard our "friendly" voice over shout ..... " in the hole " followed by  " great putt "

  Heard that just the once, and yes the ball did go in - for an ace. :)
