    WGTdbloshoe:

Only full course in the pipeline currently is the Erin Hills.  I believe they start photographing in the next couple of months.

any chance of the rumored new set of pins at Oakmont for this year's US Open?

Thanks for sharing.  I've not heard of that course, so I'll have to research it.  Glad to see the peanut is still moving forward.

Looked at their web site http://www.erinhills.com/default.aspx  Appers to be a links/parkland hybrid - no trees with lots of undulation but you can't roll it onto the greens in most cases.  Photos look nice.

As most of us know the U.S.G.A  almost always makes the U.S. Open course a par 70 or par 71. Wondering how they will do that with Erin Hills when all 4 par 5's are over 600 yards from the tips,

They will move tees to around 490-500 on 2 of the 5's and make them par 4's. They did this at Pebble last time making #2 a par 4 from 485 or so.... They always find a way!

+1....the question then begs whether WGT will make us play from the tips but leave it as the US Open par 4.....

The last US Open at Pebble was held in 2010 and the 2nd played as a par 5, not 4. Dustin Johnson double bogeyed the 2nd in the final round.

Isn't that because many of the courses are of an age that requires it ?

I know you are trying to be helpful, but Yahoo Sports is not a very reliable source for golf info.

So, let me clearify: - It is not true that hole 2 at Pebble Beach played as a par 5 during the US Open in 2010.

As you can see from the TV screen captures for rounds 2 and 4, the second hole played as a par 4, and the par of the course was 71.

Ok...you are correct about this US Open. If you look at 2000 US Open, the 2nd hole played 484 yard PAR 4 which made par 71 course......So, in this case we can all be correct....Bottom line is USGA will figure it out at every course they play US opens on.
