is this guide the same for both female/male avatars?

Yes, as long as the number of putter moves is the same. (I thought I read something some time ago that said female avatars had a different number of moves.)

It is not accurate for female avatars. I didn't even think about that, for shame! A quick test shows that there are more avatar movements on the Redwood 15, 30 and 45 foot scales for a female avatar. Did not have time to count'em for all putters and scales.

So female avatars have an edge here due to more avatar movements = more granularity on  the distance per movement? So much for equality of the sexes, lol.

My wife is gonna bust a gut the first time she sees my avatar has switched from a kilt to a pony tail and red shorts. ;)

OK, I edited the chart in my original post to include the avatar movements and distances for female avatars.

Along the way, I discovered that while you can't change equipment mid-round, you can change gender - different sort of equipment change, I guess. Anybody got a USGA ruling on that?
