At one time in a wgt land far, far away, Oakmont would have been on my 'avoid' list. Maybe it's the masochist inside of me but it's probably the one I love enjoy take most satisfaction from when putting together a decent round.
Opening hole has always been a challenge for myself as I tend to roll out to about 3/4 yards left of pin on most approaches - except when I finish on the fringe even further away.
#9 can be a round killer too.
Various courses hold their appeal at various times for me; Pebble, especially the back 9 is another I'm enjoying playing at the moment.
Chambers Bay can be fun too - though I tend to go the unorthodox routes to most pins using the surrounding hills to bounce off of.
Re MM's choices; sorry, RSG is the Moon surface on Earth for me - detest it big time.
