    YankeeJim:

Where do you see the benefit of the higher trajectory? I don't use it because of the meter but am curious because that's what got me interested in the first place. Plus, do you see any difference in wind affecting it?

The distance increase isn't anything to write home about.  :-)

The benifit in higher trajectory means the ball will carry further in nearly all conditions.Using Callaway balls, with some backspin in any tailwind situation, will result in longer drives than any other club (discounting the occasional really nice kick). You rarely get the rolling into the rough scenario in a head wind. I have used all the top drivers extensively and to me the R11 is significantly superior, distance, accuracy, smooth slow meter, its got it all.

    Jim,

Don't kid yourself.  The driver is a major benefit in distance.  Countless holes like BPB 9 or Kia 10, to name a couple, you can now carry the trap with minimal or no helping wind from the Legend tees.  The higher trajectory is great because you can cut a lot of corners where old driver would land in rough.

Wind doesn't effect the driver that much and it's extremely forgiving compared to the old TM drivers.

Meter speed may be a misprint.  It's the same as g10s and wedges.

Keep using your old driver my friend, but you're missing out on a lot of fun.

Thanks for the feedback guys. I haven't forsaken it at all, I'm just looking for the added benefit. Like I said, I have it but that meter is not the same as the R9. I find myself pulling it more times than not because of the i15 speed. Then when I get it right I find myself hitting the i15s late.  It does go well with the G10s and I did see the forgiveness factor because I steer drives by missing. That may also be why I don't see the accuracy increase.

I need to spend more time at the new level before I really appreciate it but until the Callaways show up with a faster meter I won't be longest off the tee any more. No biggie.

    1. Just a FYI update, thought some might be interested in. Just played a ranked round on St. A. Front. Legend tees. Here are the drive distances I got using the R11 driver and Callaway lengend Z balls.                                                                                                        Hole #1 wind 20mph from 9 oclock = 310 yds, No spin                                                   Hole #2 wind 20mph from10 oclock=280 yds, no spin                                                     Hole #3 wind 19mph from 8  oclock=309 yds, 1/4 back spin                                           Hole #4 wind 15mph from 5 oclock=352 yds, 1/2 backspin                                              Hole #5 wind 21mph from 1 oclock=279 yds no spin                                                       Hole #6 wind 16mph from 5 oclock=354 yds 1/2 backspin                                              Hole #7 wind14mph from 11 oclock=286 yds no spin                                                      Hole #8    Par 3                                                                                                                          Hole #9 wind 17mph from 2 oclock=288yds no spin.                                                        Average drive distance = 307.25 yds., nothing unusual in this round as far as kicks or bounces.

+1 Jake - that was definitely the biggest benefit, being able to cut those holes off - I'd add BPB 4 as well, much safer drive from the legends tees now.  Plus BPB 7, hitting the green much more often now, even in headwinds...

There are pro's and con's with everything, but I think the R11's ability to avoid hazards due to the high trajectory outweigh any con's about it, not that there are many. More precision than any other drivers and as forgiving as the top drivers currently get. Big thumbs up from me.

    +1 Price.

    BPB 15, Kia 6, Kia 15, Kia 18, OCC 4, OCC 10, STA 17.  :)

Think we might have left a few out still, but all the holes we mentioned play way easier being able clear the rough on a more aggressive line.

I'm a nearly 4 week old Legend and this is my take on the R11 Driver

VERY NICE CLUB... with the Callaways, even better.

It has a slower meter, which I like and hits much longer, I'm using shorter irons to the green now and the scores are starting to go down since I got the Driver. I have the R11 3 Wood, which has a slower meter, I think, and also the i15 irons'. I don't have a problem with the different speeds.

I just finished the 'Week13 Multiplay Prem. comp at Beth' and shot a 28 on the back9...woohoo, posted the card  on me wall too, my first under 30 as a legend (on the whites though), actually my first under 32...lol... Ok, that comp was set on the White Tees and I think the R11 is way too long for the shorter Tees. The distance might cause alot of problems from the shorter tees.

I had the R9 280 when I got promoted and was struggling off the tee, but since I got the R11, not much problems with distance... this could be cause the meter is slower, I hit the ding more often now..compared to the R9, don't know.

Highly Recommended off the Legend Tees.

    cheers

       Roger

. I'm half way through level 81 relying big on the consecutive day bonus.15,000 pts between levels now is a lotta golfing. I wonder what the level 88 takes to get to if you've just reached 87.
