That 10-15 yrds carry the Cals give over Tour balls is worth it to me.

This is what I don't get. There is not a 10-15 yard carry difference between the 2. I'm outdriven by maybe 2-3 yards when against a Cally user and they land that close to each other too.  Maybe vs a free ball but not against an SD.

Not sure what to tell you. But with my driver, my finger hitting the ding, full bs the cal carries that much further for me.

I tested the same shots last night as the replays I posted today and had the same outcome.

If you get time make a practice round on BP back nine low wind, champ tees and hit your driver full bs with the SD ball and post a replay. We are talking CARRY distance here. Not where the ball ends up after it's done rolling. Strictly where the ball makes contact with the ground.

Already did and posted pics of the results here the day the driver came out.

I'm hunting for it now........http://wgt.com/forums/p/39179/223067.aspx#223067    Note the landings as they relate to the bump out of the fwy. The R11 does carry further but not 10-15 yds.

*edit-Dar-I took your advice and went out in a practice round at BPB. Off the 1st tee I hit 4 R11 drives and 4 R9 drives (no replays.) The average carry for the R11 was 287.75. The R9 went 282.75, 5 1/2 yards less. Not all of the shots were dinged but comparing just  the dinged shots supports what you say. Tx for the lesson.  ;-)

Jim don't take me wrong I'm not trying to argue with you but if you watch my replays:

SD ball it GOES 294. It CARRIES 280.

Cal Legend Z Goes 299. It CARRIES 294.

So yes there is only 5 yards difference overall but 14 yards difference in CARRY. That, to me, is huge.

Ya, we OK DS-I can see the Callaway making that kind of difference. I've never used it so I just compared the drivers to each other.  Somebody talked about Titleist joining the mix here with the PRO/V1, maybe that will have a fast meter and I'll be able to keep up with you.  :-)

    PRIESTESS:

Ok here is my take on it,If you have credits to burn buy it, I haven't seen a great deal of difference so far between this one and the 280,Like i said credits in hand  then go ahead,Otherwise if you already own the 280 one then you aren't missing much,:)

    Thats just my first impressions,

    yupps....same here....

I wish I hadn't bothered buying it now  because the 280 driver imho works just as well if not better.

I dare say the r11 tp 8 degree version will be out soon rofl....giving 285 yrds and will perform a lot better....especially when in comes to shop shaping.

I Don't understand how you guys can have this opinion, to my mind the R-11 is a far far more superior driver than the master level R-9. Slower meter, better distance, MUCH better carry, and much better precision!

    tbe, nice profile picture!

I was only 12 yrs old when that album (yes album) came out. But I remember buying it that day and laying on my parents front room floor with headphones on that night and listening to it over and over.

Sorry to hijack. The pic just brought back a vivid memory.

but crap when it comes to drawing the shot......which is a shot i play a lot and it's a shot I found better results with the 280 stick....because it has the lower trajectory....sometimes i don't want the ball floating in the air where high winds eat the distance.

@Darsum....I'm a die hard Rush fan...been following them now for 33 years now.

tbe, if that quality makes the R-9 the better club for you, by all means carry on sir. All other things considered, the  R-11 is still the superior driver!
