Now that I'm at the Pro tees, I need to get more distance with my driver, but so many choices. I've accumulated about 1,500 credits to spend and at level 37-38. Here's where I need help:

What characteristics are the most helpful? I assume the higher the meter speed number the slower it moves. Yes? Am I better off with foregiveness or precision? A few suggestion in my price/level range would help.

Next, I find myself losing games (3 holes), often with gimmes on all three holes. Will a better putter help get the ball in the hole? How about balls? 10 credit balls, or would better balls improve my game? Not too keen on spending a lot on balls I have to keep buying.

Im losing games to hacks and amateurs on those long par 4's from the increased pro distances.

I won't spend money on credits, but would like to at least hold my own, which I don't seem to do with starter clubs against players with good drivers, putters, and balls.

Sure this has been asked a lot, and I've downloaded the spreadsheets. I just want to stay out of the rough and two putt.... And avoid all those frustrating gimme bogies and pars.

    Thanks for the help.

Try a spider for better putting. It's cheap. As for drivers, there's a sweet one at L48 that hits 275. If you can save to 2250 credits, that is....

This is just my advice. A very good driver for the price is the cobra king f6 cost 300 credits. i have this and it is just as good as any in the 1500 credit range. Agood 3 wood is the maxmeter 3 fairway cost 295 credits and a good putter is the taylor made spider level19400 credits. You have 3 good clubs and for all 3you pay 995 credits. I have 2 of the 3 now and you can not go wrong with the max 3 wood. questions let me know.

just saw you had the nike vapor  very good driver friend has the level 85 and says best driver by far. So get the spider and the max 3 wood  (700 ) credits and 2 good wedges and your set.  ping wedges for 195-295 are pretty good ones.

Looks like you already bought the driver I'd recommend, the L25 Nike Vapor. Pretty good distance for now, and a high ball flight to give you some extra boost in tailwinds. I wouldn't have recommended spending credits on balls just yet, but I saw you purchased the Cally slow meters so that's fine. Next purchase maybe a decent set of irons...the R11s at L32 are a decent value, with a slow enough meter and some forgiveness.

    Good luck

Thanks for the responses. I bought the Nike driver right after I posted my questions and built up a small stash of credits running videos while I was watching TV.

I thought I'd try the better balls since I always seemed to end up a foot from the hole on my putts, but didn't seem to change that. So I'll go back to the 10 credit balls when these wear out or get lost.

Ill try the Spyder putter per your suggestions.

Hopefully I'll start to figure out the effect of the wind and lie over time. I really suck at pitches, chips, and calculating breaks on the green.

It's a great game playing on the iPad.

Any other tips are always appreciated. Any posts or YouTube videos I should be watching to explain the nuances of this game?

Ditch the hybrid and put in another wedge. There is plenty of good stuff re putting on YouTube. Just put in WGT Putting and take your pick. Also my 700cr balls still miss the same as the 10cr ones. Learn to pitch with the 64 deg wedge. With full spin it is a very controllable shot. The flop with full spin also is handy when coming up and over a tier or hill just short of the flag. The art of chipping has eluded me so I don't use that one at all. Good luck.

Jas, sorry I did not see your post before you bought that spider putter. It is probably the worse putter available. The rossa at lvl 55 is a good putter if it is sitll available. If you have trouble controling the meter of your putter, get the slowest, good puter available. That would be the lvl 51 nike.

I racked up a 1000 once but I was severely putting my brain at risk of leaking out of my ears - how do you do it?? :)
