You will get different opinions regarding what to buy.  Part of the answer is how much do you have to spend?  For me the first serious set I bought was the Lvl 59 Ping set.  They are the first irons available with a high trajectory.

Because I was not wiling to spend a lot of credits, I bought the Ping full set and had OK results with the Ping driver and 3W.  I used that Ping driver until I could buy the Taylormade SLDR in white at lvl 79.  It worked for me, but I didn't play ready go's or anything.

Other players felt they were junk.  But almost everyone agrees the Ping lvl 59 irons are the best game changing clubs around.  Rent before you buy.  At lvl 52 you should get some 2 hour free rentals at different points as you level up to lvl 59.

Try renting the clubs you are considering then.  Plan to be able to use them for the next 2 hours as the clock starts right away.  You will get a 10% discount if you buy them when the rental period ends.

Also do a forum search and you can find lots of info about the Ping lvl59 irons.

I hope this helps some.  Good Luck.

Here some suggestions.  Driver L48 Taylor Made R1,  3W Nike Vapor Fly L51, 3 evenly spaced wedges there some good Taylor Made wedges at L38-39, no hybrid a waste of money, putter if can wait L70 Odyssey Versa #1

    Add:

As a L53 player, wait till L58/59 to get the G25 irons. They are the first "high" trajectory clubs, necessary for long precision shots.

This is solid advice. Though I opted for the Cleveland wedges around the same level.

    +1

if I started again I would also get the L55 rossa putter

I also like the 3 cleveland wedges, but others like the atvs, etc

+1 for the Rossa - I usually say, "no putter below 500 cr" ;)

Are you talking about the L28ish Cleves? Are they good wedges, as good as the L39 ATVs? (owning the predecessors, Z-Satin, I'm biased)

Those were the first wedges I purchased. I thought they were great. But I didn't try the ATVs.

Thanks! I can't compare either, and to me the Z Satins were great!
