    Faterson:

You are perfectly entitled to quit, you'd just be given a small penalty if you quit a multi-player round, thus spoiling (or even ending) it for your fellow player(s). The small penalty wouldn't be anything tragic for you personally or any individual, but it would very likely reduce the overall amount of quitters significantly...  or not, because really only a very few care about quitting.

That is all the more reason to introduce the small penalties. They could do no harm, and could potentially only be beneficial for the multi-player games on this site.

Then lets hit people who ask questions, in these forums, when the answer is covered in the FAQ. Use the same penalties you suggest for quitters. Really drive some customers away.

Theres probably people who play a whole bunch of games but if it isnt going to bring down their average they scrap the round. Like how many times have you seen 4 people who started a game, finish it. So avg scores aren't about how people normally play, only what their best games look like. Would be nice to have the scores be more realistic of how someone actually plays instead of it only being of their best games. If you pause a round because something's going on at the moment.. next time you restart, should HAVE to continue where you left off and can only keep on till you finish the round. You'd see those top scores go down and less people making it to master.

It's been said many times before: don't blame forum users for the absence of forum moderators. These forums are disorganized because it is permitted to create 25 topics on the same issue and post them to 12 different forum subsections, 11 of them incorrect. If there was a moderator to merge repetitive threads into a single thread per issue, there would be no problem. There would be a single thread in this entire forum to deal with quitters, and those forum visitors for whom quitters pose no problem, could easily ignore that single thread, instead of incessantly sabotaging the discussions on how to resolve the quitters problem.

Bingo! That is, exactly, the proposal being made, and the logical way out of the quitters mess. Alternately, let the user accept a small penalty for choosing not to finish a ranked multi-player round. Let's hope WGT is listening.

If people would only play with friends quiting would not be perceived as a problem. Then we could concern ourselves with how much we would hate it if cows flew.

Yes, but playing only with friends isn't practicable, because those green dots don't really show who's available for a round. And I don't want to plan virtual golf games ahead of time; my work schedule is packed as it is!

Then live with what you get. Because you won't be any happier with the results if small penalties are imposed on players, any way. Your pick up games will still mostly fall apart.

I dont care if they disconnect, they just need practice. Once they have really good practice, then they wont be disconnecting anymore

Lets put this issue to a vote. WCT lets vote for one day. Who is not for rules and who is for rules about quitting.

    Thats only fair to everybody.

Faterson, how about that, once and for all ,debate finished.
