Agreed Lee. As a Legend and a member for a year less than you I have no complaints. Ok, so the equipment advantage goes to the lower-tiered players. However, skill is still the advantage that Legends have. There are some lower-tiered players who've adapted quite well and are difficult to beat. That's just not common enough for it to be an issue.
The lower-tiered players will always knock on Legends complaining. Fact of the matter is they've no clue of the conditions at our level until they've been there. Again, no complaints on my part. Of course they've no clue the whooping they'd receive should we play from their tees with their course conditions either. No contest... Legends would completely dominate due to skill. Furthermore, when was the last time anyone below TM won an open-tiered tournament? And, specifically since the change?
Granted, the majority of the complaints are from Legends that woke up one day a Legend due the the change last September and should have been TMs or Masters. However, if all the jugheads knocking Legends as whole, rather than just the whiner(s), played on from our tees with our greens they may actually understand the basis for the complaints from these players.
The new legitimate player accounts that have taken the time to learn the ins/outs of the game and new challenges are going to be competive at the higher tiers as they advance. For all we know, the next tibbets, BolloxinBruges, or AvatarLee is already a member and working their way up.
The addition of the Callaway balls is not ruining the game. If anything, the Callaways have given Legends a more realistic ball that's superiorly controllable to anything else. With the skill a typical Legend should have in the game the end result is that averages are creeping back down to 60 and below slowly but surely. Use of the Callaways is certainly contributing to this.
That's all I've got to say about that.
