What a road map update WGT posted yesterday.    I can hardly wait .. YAWN !!!!!!!!!

Coming Soon (in the next 30-90 days)

    • New Courses: Harbour Town and Hilversumsche - skill challenges
    • New Course: Congressional Country Club - skill challenges and full strokeplay
    • Official 2011 Virtual U.S. Open with the USGA
    • New weekly player activity emails
    • New virtual golf equipment
    • Additional features and improvements based on player feedback

    Let's see now ---

    1. The new courses (Harbour Town and Hilversumsche have been out for 2 weeks
    2. Congressional is old news ... have been waiting since it was announced the day after the Oakmont LPGA US Open last June
    3. Is exactly the same as 2
    4. Ho Hum
    5. Ho Hum
    6. Says nothing

Thanks for the update .... I know it's probably in someone's job description to update this every 60 days and you get an "A" for that ... but next time .... do something more productive.

    Thanks, Lou

Well, I for one always look forward to new stroke play courses. We need them, more variety will always bring more players.  Secondly, I'm always curious to see what they added, after an update.  This one is no different.

Just my opinion though, we need to look at adding a stroke play course once every 3-4 months.  That will definitely spice things up and get the members drooling.

Nice Lou.  Thought I was the sour apple of our gang.  Glad to see my sparkling disposition is rubbing off on you!

While I feel your pain longing for more stroke courses (CTTH just ain't that much fun) the addition of the R11 clubs last update will appease me for bit.  The forgiveness of those clubs goes a long way to counteract the shotty meter and has brought much pleasure to playing this game again after my February sabbatical.

I will say adding new courses is one arena TWO has a giant leg up over WGT.  Even though the game sucks, they add new stroke courses about every 2 months max which keeps folks interested.  Think they have close to 20 stroke courses now and started BETA for the online game long after WGT was developed.

So long story short, enough of the CTTH courses already.  If WGT is going to invest resources in CTTH courses, I sure wish they would dig a little deeper and take the shots necessary for stroke play.

I'll just be rushing to my mailbox every week to find out how active I've been. I cant remember anytime anyone requesting that.

Feedback?  Like the two Scots that requested kilts? How about how nice it was not to have the needless replays for a while, there's some feedback. A long shot is ok, but that 7 foot chip when you yell crap coz u miss badly u have to see over again, a whole foot left. That's comparable to a 70 yard wedge 10 yards left.

Something between the two extremes of ways of figuring a players average would be nice. Especially when a 280 driver is finally purchased along with Calloway balls that make it possible to break 30 again for the first time in 3 months. Perhaps just a chance to reset as a one time option for legends.

Last year wgt announed it had "The open championship" in a deal with the R and A, it will be interesting to see where "The virtual open championship" is going to be played this year.

Congressional will deffinatelly do to pass the coming months, well done WGT, and please don't release a level 100, 288 yard driver, not even at R11 status yet lol

I'd be happy to see the game a little more realistic...having to score -12 just to end up in 10th position isn't exactly realistic.

With the new clubs and most of all the new balls, some almost impossible shots have become quite easy, leveling out the field.

I'd like too see less forgiveness and more distance penalty for off center hits, and I wish WGT would intoduce the lie and stance variables into the game.

    WGT:

    1/13/11 update:

Coming Soon (in the next 30-90 days)

        * Easier to connect, invite and play with other people
        * New virtual clubs, balls, avatars and snacks
        * Concede hole/shot in Alternate shot format
        * Additional unannounced features.
        * Numerous bug fixes and performance improvements

    3/14/11 Update

Coming Soon (in the next 30-90 days)

    • New Courses: Harbour Town and Hilversumsche - skill challenges
    • New Course: Congressional Country Club - skill challenges and full strokeplay
    • Official 2011 Virtual U.S. Open with the USGA
    • New weekly player activity emails
    • New virtual golf equipment
    • Additional features and improvements based on player feedback

What were the "Numerous bug fixes and performance improvements" done in the last couple of updates??  Any ideas?

Dopey me had hoped for meter performance improvements!

Ya think one of the "improvements based on player feedback" would be to add an option to disable Friend updates in the game client??  That change would be most welcome.
