If WGT clear the shelf of all Nike branded equipment - the closet is going to look pretty bare when we try to buy balls!

Hopefully if the Nike brand is discontinued - WGT maintain all the same range of balls and simply give them a different branding so we can continue with our current ball selections --- I'm sure a lot of folks would like a chance to whack "Icon's Balls"

Same thing applies to choice of irons. Nike make up a good part of the upper level selection. If they were discontinued - that would seriously disadvantage players who are yet to reach L100.

So does this mean no L100+ FlyPro irons will be added to the pro shop ?

Assuming they go through with it maybe dog clubs that bark.  Paired with the cat meow ball what 9  year old would be psycho would not be thrilled at that LOL.........

Seriously though it's like so much tech:  Apparent what you get extra for a while but upgrading soon becomes pointless.  We had some laughs with the latest super long somethings back in the day, but it's been a mature market for an age....

If Nike balls do change I would wishfully hope any new balls are massively detuned.

Still charge for meter speeds as I don't think their new SSs SW is much chop, and having to play some roll might even be a good anti cheat if everyone has to?

Maybe still have the super velcro darts with cat faces that meow, but tie them to red tees?

Might open up a good opportunity to exploit the golfers who want to compete on a golf course?

+1 and exactly what I thought, but WGT is in pursuit of a buck....the better the specs the higher the price, regardless of brand,

But it does offer the opportunity to scale back to regain a little more realism....then wait for the complaints!

They're there at L97+ already. So unlikely.

No those are L97+ irons and they are not better than the current L100+Vapor irons .They have a slower meter but that is all . I was expecting new L100+ irons to have a bit more foregivness precision and maybe a touch more spin and a 4.0 meter . But as it stands right now I wouldnt give up my L100+ irons for the new 97+ Fly Pro irons as I have no problem with the meter speed .

Oh well will just have to wait and see what happens now . Sooner or later something will come so will just have to build up my credits until then . It was a fun ride while it lasted .

Thinking a little outside the box, this might present an opportunity for one of the generic companies like Pinemeadow or Gigagolf to establish a relationship with WGT. The Nike clubs could be simply rebranded as those companies' generic versions of Nike ones.

Another avenue would be for WGT to assume those clubs' identities as part of a "WGT Premier" line of clubs if other name brand companies don't pick up the slack.

Well there will still be T/M Cobra Ping and Max clubs to fill the gap . With the new addition of both the Cobra and M1 M2 clubs from T/M it wont be that hard to use those specs with upgrades to those lines .

Also they can use the ball specs with the new TruVis and even Srixon has a new ball out now  . Srixon has never been upgraded since Ive been here and thats for 5 years now . They can even upgrade the Cally and Volvik balls too .

nike are to stop making golf equipment, does that mean i need to throw my real life golf clubs away?

    no,

here on wgt we rent software for balls and clubs

do nike still want their name involve in golf.?

    yes

why would nike stop wgt endorsing their name

I used to live on a course. I'd visit the woods to get my supply of balls.

    (Occasionally, clubs - no kidding)

I have a Nike logo ball from before they went into the golf business. It's a TopFlite.
