Figure out the distances on your putter for the various meters it has. Then use a higher meter than you might be used to.That will make it easier for you to hit the ding.
Example:
If you have a 10 ft putt, and a 15ft meter, that will have you add about 66% power - don't use the 15 ft meter. Switch to the 30ft meter. That will enable you to "only" need to add about 33% power. And when meter is running back towards ding, it will not be as fast as if it were running on your 15 ft meter.
