  I have something to add. lets forget about the yardage. lets say for the sake of arguement that they both go the same distance. lets talk about carry. either with or against the wind. does one or the other carry better than the other? I have the 275 R9 so i cant say anything about the 280 R9 but would like to know in your opinions what the 280 R9 and the R11 carry differences are both against and with the wind?

  Definitely. That's what makes the R11 better-it does carry nice. I've switched back to it to give it a better look and am seeing the carry difference, especially at BPB. If you have a choice the R11 would be a better pick.

  thats the course i was thinking. alot of holes where your trying to carry a turn and such. but and this is a big but.....against the wind will the R11 carry further than the R9? I guess the reason i am asking is cause i am thinking about getting the 280 yard R9 but if the R11 will carry just as well or better against the wind i will just wait for the R11                                                                                                                                                                                                                Sorry bacardi, didnt mean to high jack your post

  Jim see my edited post. Yeah, I'm an idiot. I can definitely see where the level 80 R9 is keeping up with the R11. I would say the loft is why. With the R9 being 8.5 and the R11 being 9.0. They should have made the R11 an 8 or 8.5.

  Now I want to try the level 80 R9!

  r 11 by far is the better driver . you have too learn when to put top spin on it. most of the times its backspin. even into the wind the r 11 will do nice.
