I find I am better in real life on long bunker shots. I tend to pick the ball as clean as I can. I would appreciate any input on how to play long bunker shots on WGT. as invariably I come up way short.

    Thank You.

    Wayne.

Fairway bunker shots that go 50-70 yds if, as you say, you can pick 'em out clean about the best wgt gonna give us,  I think...Hope for par and say "Thank you"

You could also look up MistessCosete and see if her blog has anything...probably the best place to start

    Depends on the lie %%.

To 25%: good with the shorter irons, some distance loss.

30-40%: Only wedges (incl PW). Expect nothing more than 70 yds.

50-60%: Search the next FW spot, get a wedge and pray.

I happen to know it is possible to punch out of the bunker on RSG 18th fairway and go off the back of the green.  Don't remember what club was used and I have only seen it once.

In fact it is the only shot from 30-40% bunker I ever saw go over 100yds.

That bunker is one of the easy ones if you're in the sand and can be hit onto the green.  If you're on the face of the bunker then you are basically stuffed as you might have 2 shots just to get out to the front of the bunker

I would agree, bunker shots don't seem to reflect RG, but hey its a game. Just accept it and move on.

This is what I use for greenside bunkers. Multiply by the distance for Full, add for Flops. Fairway bunkers just get yourself out back onto the fairway, swallow the extra stroke and go for par mostly.

    Sand (Full & Pnch):  For 00 -1y >10/15 *1.05 > 15/20 *1.08 >20/25 * 1.1 >30/40 *1.3 >40/50 *1.4

    Sand (Flop):  For 10/15 + 1y > 20/25 +2y > 30/40 +7y > 40/50 + 9y
