    kennetharry:

you need 2 gig of ram

Thanks for the advice Columbo, but I already have 6GB of RAM and a 2.8 Quad-Xeon machine.  I'm not lacking for HD space either.

Could not get into WGT yesterday. Took a while to log in today. WGT servers are not up to par. And the worst thing is they are doing nothing about the problem. How about upgrading your servers. Spend some of that money myself and others have sent you in good faith.

say there are 500 people playing this game at any given time....there's probably far more to be honest......but just because you have problems getting on......that doesn't mean it's WGT's servers that are at fault......else the other 500 folks would not be getting on either.

    does that make any sense?

it's 100% most likely a problem at your end.

I've used Macs since 1994 for my work, I swear by them BUT I wouldn't bother with Safari, Mac software is rubbish. Try Firefox or Chrome, way better.

This problem has just started the last few weeks. Before that no problem. Why now and not months ago????

Well, life isn't static, things change and move on all the time, Snow Leopard has had new updates as has WGT. It's all a movable feast and sometimes you just have to try alternative dishes to see if they work better than the old ones.

Switched from Safari to Chrome, still not having success signing in. Still hit or miss.                good grief.

    I'm curious

Have any of you guys that are having problems tried running a ping plot to WGT's servers?

I was having connection issues, stutters, and lag, on another game last year and, when I ran ping plot, it turned out that one of the hops in the route was dropping out sporadically.

In addition to the load on the servers at WGT if you happen to run through a hop that's doing a lot of streaming video like Netflix your connection is going to be severely buggy.

Not like I'm an expert but I've seen a lot of similar complaints and responses from the tech support people on that game that seem like they would be relevant to WGT users.

You can get pingplotter at http://www.pingplotter.com/ and you might also want to go to speedtest.net to see how you're connection upload and download is doing.

Just a couple of things that have come to mind.  Hope this helps someone.
