Walt played extremely well today. He birdied the first 6 to take a 3 point lead. I was fortunate to get it back to 1 point by the turn. (my lovely 32 to his 31 on the front...22 points to 23)
Back nine I kept threatening, but Walt kept answering. He picked up another point on me at 12 with a nice approach and birdie to get it back to 2 points. Things changed from there. after I birdied 13 & 14, we were finally even and set for the 4 hole shootout.
Both of us hit to 2 feet on the back pin on 15 and matched birdies.
On 16 we were both just short in 2, Walt's chip was dead on line but stopped inches short, my attempt was a touch long and we matched birdies again.
On 17 with the back pin, I hit my shot to 7 feet, and Walt was about 12. His birdie just rolled wide of the hole, and I made mine.
On 18 we were side by side in the fairway, but I was further away. I was able to stuff it to about 3 feet on the right side pin, and Walt's approach just trickled off the right side. Hi chip was again on line but just missed, and I tapped in for birdie to claim the victory for the Goodfellas. I shot 60 to Walt's 62. Points: Bigknight 48....HackWilson 46.
