    Group 4 update:

Pending match Byways(No Quitters) vs Gripnripnsliceit(Together We Are Tequila) .

I'm angry with both these players. It seems they agreed on Saturday night UK time. Byways waited till 1:30 AM from 8PM but his opponent stayed red all day.

Byways only tells me this today. Bloody hell. All the hard work & fairplay for nought.

Please get the match played if Tequilas' captain sees this.

    P.S. Hope Finny allows it.

So that's the deadline passed and no more results will be accepted as played from this point on?

Good luck all that made it to the last 16 and did their utmost to complete individual matches throughout the group stage.

Doing a grand job, Finny & Co.

I had two more sleeves to sponsor in this tournament and after speaking with bubbs decided to give it to the two players with the most individual points from teams who didn't make the knockout rounds.

Had a quick look over the results and hope I didn't miss anyone's scores (if anyone feels like they're missing in the list below, please correct me). So here is the list:

    birchi: 21pts (7-0)
    onekeano: 18pts (6-0)
    GBP1705: 15pts (5-2)
    GLADSTONESCREWER: 15pts (5-2)
    mythanatos: 14pts (4-2-1)
    Shaanbeckham: 13pts (4-1-1)
    Dodgyputter: 13pts (4-1-1)
8 players with 12pts behind that

The sleeves go to onekeano and GBP1705, please write on my wall with your preference for what balls you want.

Thanks for a great tournament, I had fun even though my team didn't make the knockout stages on the smallest of margins.
I have one suggestion for next years edition: Do a transparent draw of the groups. Though I'm sure it wasn't intentional it comes across a bit shady if the best team of the organisers club is in the by far easiest group and has to play the opponent from the second easiest group in the knockout stages. All while there were 5 teams in one group that all would have potentially won 2 of the other groups.

Again, not to take anything away from the organisers who did a fantastic job, looking forward to future tournaments. Good luck to everyone who made it to the knockout stage!

    hey dave

as to an answer to your question if you are asking is there has been nothing shady about the groups,i spent many hours studying all squads, checking averages and what i tried to achieve was 4 or 5 strong teams in each group and the other  teams making up the groups,

group 1 of which the chickens were in,it had the eagles, gorgian 1,pukis and the chickens who are all good teams,i put the band of brothers in  who on paper looked awesome, all in the 50s average but they had to pull out after round 1,i cant predict that.

group 2 had the wolves, bridgestone 1,caroloina and  arona  with calm waters and bravehearts 1 not far behind,

group 3 had cosa 1,the grande oaks, the eagles 1 and east coast,it also had friends of seve who again were all 50s average, very strong on paper,i didnt think we would make the top four and was very surprised to win the group,

group 4 had yourselves, the trannies,no quitters, east coast 1and victoriae and it was always going to be a tight group, all teams looked strong on paper mate and dont forget you only didnt make it by 2 points out of 56 games,

what i didnt predict is a lot of clubs play off different tees which can make the average seem better than what it really is,we play off ranked tees period,

so trust me dave i have tried my best in this years comp because i want it to get bigger and better every year and i have always been fair and honest to all clubs and players,

look forward to having the daredevils in next years comp

    all the best

    finny

Don't lose any sleep over this, treat all the averages as legitimate. All that happens is the posers get outed.   :-)
