Oh,  and I'm sure you're discussing this already  and given that we had to rearrange our player due to circumstances out of our control,   but xxxxxxaa is not currently a member of your CC

UKGE,   i'm pretty sure you have the players to qualify for the KO stages.

cheers steve & congrats to all the bridgestone players on your win, with some great competitive matches being played and with all the hawks enjoying some fine company a win-win for all :)

good luck in your remaining matches.

I've been running tournaments in our CC for more than two years now and I understand how vital participation is to the success of any tournament. Our club is 45'ish members and if 25 to 30 enter any tournament I call that a success.

This World Cup is different, we sign up, we commit, and whilst not wishing how to tell Finny how to run his tournament , I do believe there should be some punishment for clubs that cannot make the effort to get matches played.

I am sure the captains try their best, but there has to be a limit as to how little effort is made by the players.

I can understand what you're saying John,  however every team will have one player who signs up and then decides maybe not and is it right to punish the rest of the team?

I'd say 90% of those signed up to play in this genuinely want to play and see how they progress.  Finny is right in not imposing too strict rules that would punish the majority because of a minority.

    Tread carefully John

One club that has entered  2 teams has lost a half of its players.

I can remember last year, due to the odd mix up and players stubbornness, the odd match was incomplete.. Here is hopin that this year runs more smoothly.

Quantity over quality is what's rearing its ugly head here.

I would say the quantity of players already finished games and the quality of those players reports says different Jim.

You are having difficulty with one team, im sure Finny will have contacted their Captain to ask what the issues are.

Only going off reports it seems theres only one team having trouble, which in itself is poor i admit. But some have finished and lots are nearly complete, so to me hats off to the majority.

Finny needs to know about your contact to their Captain personally, which know doubt you probably have done.

When Finny advertises for participation he cant say to a succesful club, no as i fear you may have trouble with your members, he wont ever know that.

P.S There are one or two clubs not in this, who may have had issues surrounding them in past.
