    Bluesteelie:

make the starter ball a Top Flight its a rock too.

LMAO. Ain't that the truth. It's always fun to find a decent ball or 2 along the way of 18 holes but 9/10 of them are Top Flites.  :-D

With my slow swing speed any ball except an ultra low compression lady's ball is a rock.

Funny how things change. Anyone else remember the old Titleist 100s? Or the Dunlop 110s?

For now the balls still on the shop...  next episode will follow another day

Clubs are still in the shop too . I played around with the L92 + irons just to see how they would play since it was free . So now I have to put up with the annoying buy the clubs at discount ad everytime I leave the game and come back . You would think that a simple no response would do shouldnt have to go through a 24 hour barrage .

For the last week WGT should have also sold the clubs at half price that would have increased club sales . After all since they are taking them out of the game all money is good money in the end .

They did slip in a new Versa putter at L98+ and the stats are better than the L100+ M1 & M2 putters . May have to buy this one been wanting some new eye candy shame couldnt have had a try during the free rental .

LOL, One day we were playing a quick 9 just before dark and I found a Titleist ball in very good condition when I still played a lot ...2 holes later there was a Par 5 with a pretty tight driving window, so I hit the ball I found and crushed it...

We were looking all over the fairway for it in the area I usually land and couldn't find it so I hit another ball!

As we walked down the fairway 35-40 yds I see a ball and it was the one I hit, and the longest drive I "ever" hit...

So I played out the round with it...we got to the Par 3 9th about the time of day you couldn't see the ball when you hit it even with a spotter, so I hit a 5i, we walked up to the green, didn't see it, looked in the traps, didn't see it! So I figured I hit it in the rough and missed the green completely like my friend did and we walked to our car, put the clubs away and went in for a beverage.

10 minute go by and a guy in the threesome behind us walks up to us and asks me if we played a Titleist? I said yes, and he hands me a ball and says, "here ya go, you left it in the hole"....

WTF, being soooooo close to a HIO soooo many times, and the only one I ever got was one I couldn't even see to enjoy it! LOL

Now it could have been a prank they pulled on me if it wasn't for the fact that the ball was a 80 compression ladies ball, and the only 80 compression ball I had ever seen...the next day I went to, called, and went to the website of "every" Golf store known to mankind trying to buy more of them, only to find out they quit making them like 10 years before....

That ball has been, and will always be on a shelf in my office, my longest drive and my only HIO!

As kids that could keep us happily occupied for hours.

Don't think it would catch on with today's youth.

    True Story,

So a bunch of years ago... a buddy of mine (lets call him Lou)  is playing and finds a new Dunlop Titanium ball.  He proceeds to use it on the back 9 and shoots great .. 2 over par.  "This is it",  he says ... "My ball of the future ... I'll always play these now, they are great".

A week or so later "Lou" sees them on sale in a Golfsmith shop for 9.99 / dozen .. so he goes in and buys 12 dozen.    His "ball of the future".     A few days later he gets a discount coupon and goes back and buys 24 dozen for $7.99 / dozen.   Now "Lou" has 36 dozen of these ball .. that's 432 balls for those of you wondering.

As you can guess .. next time out .. he takes a dozen and opens a sleeve and ... plays like chit --- can't hit them worth a dam.  Worst he has ever hit a golf ball.

Sooooo...  he takes 35 dozen balls back to return them.   The sales person was astounded --- but still gave him a return slip to fill out.     "Lou" checks the box that says "Defective" ... and fills in the reason ... "Balls go short and to the right" ...

    He got the refund  !!!

PS. It wasn't he ball   :)
