Crazy thread. I've seen these rulers and such in pictures posted to peoples computers in other threads and it's always made me laugh a little.
The OP compared these "tools" to the likes of having a caddy and some agreed with that. Everyone realizes that the caddy doesn't grab the players putter and move it back to a certain backswing position before the player putts for them.
The OP also stated somewhere that he had no idea how hard to hit the ball with the provided meter. The avatar backswing movement is what provides that information. And feel. FEEL. That's what WGT tried to create when they created this game. A golf game where FEEL is a huge part of it. That, to me, is what makes this the most realistic golf game I've ever played.
Playing this game the way WGT provided it is tough and takes a quite a few rounds to get somewhat good at it. Just like real golf.
I could be wrong here but I bet most of the people using these crutches are younger kids who want everything NOW and don't have the patience to learn so they find shortcuts or tools or cheats or whatever you want to call it.
To any newbies reading these threads out there making all these new meters I suggest learning the game the way WGT created it. I think you'll be a better player in the long run without having to rely on a crutch.
And to any of the long timers that play with these "tools" I have to ask you. What's going to happen to your game when WGT comes up with a new meter but the avatar club movements stay the same so it doesn't effect existing players?
Use the "tools" WGT gave you to play the game and you'll be a better player in the long run.
