    PhilEStein:

"only difference in stats is Cally`s meter which is 4.2 (nike 4.0) but there stops the similarities"

Now that is not quite true is it? Who is it you are trying to convince, us or you? I suppose it depends which you consider more important, precision and spin against an imperceptible slowing of the meter.

You're comparing the lvl 85 Cally's, to what were lvl 95 (reduced to 92) Nike's.  The lvl 97 Cally's do match up to the 95 Nike's.  Likewise the equivalent lower level clubs.

The game will exterminate itself if clubs keep getting better. What's the point, apart from attempting to bale as much hay while the sun shines? Going to have to brainstorm other revenue sources other than selling "upgraded" clubs, otherwise WGT will living on borrowed time. Pull your heads in.

I'd kinda like to buy the Callaway irons.

But, I'm also a serious gear freak who buys nearly every new item to come along.

A 0.2 slower meter isn't worth it though.  The only reason would be to have the same brand as is in my real golf bag.

    And that's pretty pathetic really.

Hi guys and sorry for the "missinformation", i was both tired and a bit overexcited when i wrote my "review". I was comparing the Callaway L85`s  to the NIKE Vapor Fly Pro`s L80, not L92, and as far as i can recall the only difference in stats were just that 0.2 in slower meterspeed. So - "PhilEstein" - i don`t think i`m fooling anyone!

Know exactly what you mean :) A 0.2 meter doesn`t seem much i agree but it does make a difference in this case. The big difference as i see, and experience it, is the fact that the L85 Cally`s doesn`t overreact on a missed ding in crosswinds. To me that was a major problem with the L80 NIKE`s.

    Not yet C, not yet.

They're bloody nice though, the guy in the pro shop let me hit a few with an 8 iron.  I wasn't allowed to take it out of the shop but could hit some balls off a mat on the floor.  I didn't set any distance records but managed to get one ball to bounce off 3 walls before it hit me old mate Yankee Jim in the nuts.

By the time the ambulance left the shop had to close so I only got a few more hits in as he lay there frantically clutching at himself and praying to die.

The big question is, a shiny set of ball busters or a nice bottle of single malt liver buster?

    Not easy mate, not easy.

    Hey D,

Go for the latter.  A nice bottle of attitude adjustment fluid will make EVERYTHING look shiny for a while.  And YJ will need the ice.
