Greens fees!!!!!!!!! cmon WGT. This is just plain tacky. I'm not 1 to *** but this is outrageous. If you want to make this a pay site losing the great graphics is not the way to do it. No way I will pay more for less. I'm sticking to the free courses til you start charging for them and then I'm completely done. If you want to charge a fee to play then you should give us equipment. Now people can lose a $1 ball due to a meter spike on a course they payed $1 to play. The damn $1's are adding up for you now WGT. I have been a faithful member of this site for a long time and refuse to pad the pockets of someone when it is starting to just seem like greed. I don't mind paying for what i get so I propose a monthly fee of $10-$15 with equipment, especially balls, for the ones that pay to be included in the price. I am not a happy customer this morning!!!!!!!!!!

I think a major point that may be being overlooked here is this:

When Pebble Beach, or Augusta, or any of the other much requested courses come available to WGT, will they be released as HD courses in all their glory, or will they be selected to be "Cabo-type" TruGolf inferior pay-courses?

There's a course timeline somewhere... I don't remember where right now.

Can there be both types of a particular course? I doubt it.

Therein lies but another rub.  :(

    Mosales:
Perhaps a better approach would be to continue to develop additional courses with the same quality that WGT is known for and in order to recoup the direct cost of developing, form a "PRIVATE" or "PAY/month" ($5.00) with unlimited play WGT country club.

This is green fees, just by another name. I think my method mentioned in an earlier post would be better. It's like getting business funding and all they have to do is deliver the HD quality that they used to be known for

    nowhammies:

This is the first step in their plans to start charging greens fees on all courses!!!  BOYCOTT THIS COURSE!!

I AGREE this seems like a trial run and if heck people will pay a dollar to play that crappy course then they will pay a dollar for Kiwah etc......... So seems like if this goes good for wgt look for NOTHING but CTTH to be free and ALL stroke play to be a dollar to make you hollar

Not to mention there is A LOT of players that cannot play for credits so no chance of winning some to help out with the cost!!

I played the CTTH and I think the wrong course was selected to start this off. The white sand and ocean isn't the way to go with this. The tees, fairways and from a distance the greens look very close to wgt quality. A little of the crayon on ping pong table effect but not too bad. I don't think this would be nearly as noticeable with a better background. I wont pay to play this one but Augusta I might if they could get a little contour added to the greens.

LOL suddenly only 4 courses.....AINT SO BAD LOL

Today i played this new course.  Just 'cause i was curious. Didn't know anything before about it. Now, after my first 9, i say: That's it. It'll be my last 9 on that one. I'll never gonna pay for that anymore. I'm paying already 4 new balls and clubs. I don't need to pay for this half-cartoon.

First of all, congrats to WGT. This thread is now close to 20 pages long. By far the most successful forum I have ever seen on here. Unfortunately, it is filled with haters hating on this site.

Here is my two cents (or 2 credits):

WGT has a great thing going. Innovative site and realistic golf experiences.  I have been on here for a little over a year. Unfortunately, the quality of the product seems to continue to dwindle.  They used to offer real prizes for select tournaments. The value of your credits used to go further.  The quality of the courses, etc...used to be better.  Now this.  I know you are still in BETA mode, but what's happening?  Did the overseas programmers up their rates?  Are california taxes strangling the feasibility of the company?  It seems like WGT is doing fairly well with Ad Revenue considering the brands that are advertised on here.

What is great about WGT is that historically you gave incentive to play. The chance to win more credits back, or real prizes.  Now just to piss a dollar away on a course that is not the same quality as the courses you have, doesn't have value to me.  Plenty of other areas we could improve first. Congressional and Royal St. George will be awesome additions. I can leave the Mexican Resort Cartoon and use my dollar elsewhere.

I have been addicted to this site. But you can track my usage recently and it continues to dwindle for the above reasons.  It is also disheartening that I've heard from WGT friends that prizes they have won in tournaments and redeemed in the Elite Collection are not being fulfilled. I worry about the future of this site. I would hope that the creators of this site would worry about its loyal customers continuing to play.

    Cheers.

As many others have mentioned, the fee for playing these course is absurdly high. The quality of the product simply doesn't warrant the price.

Having said that, I'm not opposed to having some of these inferior courses available for variety sake. I'd play Cabo occasionally if there were no fee (or at least a very low fee).

My main concern, however, is that WGT is being distracted from its core principle. Things like XP boosts and TruGolf courses are fine in themselves, but if they pull resources away from what truly sets WGT apart, they need to be put on hold.

I guess that's the bottom line: Is TruGolf pulling resources away from developing new HD courses, shot shaping, slope affecting ball flight, new pin positions, etc? These are the things that will make WGT great.
