This prepared statement does nothing to alleviate the very real concerns that members of WGT are expressing, you are trying to implement this very blatant clone of TWO and to get your members to play these cartoon courses, are an insult to those members. While every member admires your constant drive to improve courses and alternate games, this fast buck approach will be to the detriment of wgt mark my words. I will not be held to ransom to play these trugolf courses and to pay huge fees over a year for the privilige NO THANK YOU WGT.  Develope the HD courses we will be happy to wait I'm sure.

    Regards

    JCOlson:

Here is my two cents (or 2 credits):

And at the rate WGT is going it may soon cost 2 credits...

Just read as far as I could, pretty obvious that we ALL AGREE that WGT has lost the DIGNITY of this game to GREED.  This was a wonderful site before all the ADVERTISING started to bog down the system, and we all had to deal with slow meters, yes...does anyone remember those days before POP-UPs took over?

WGT!!!  You get INSANE amounts of money from your SPONSERS,  why are you trying to "nickle & dime" us to death?

Get away from the greed!  Our planet has suffered because of greed, get it?

You lost many who would recommend you to others.

    Pity.

    WGTadmin:
We will also be announcing additional closest-to-the-hole courses, but millions of WGT players are asking for more stroke play courses, and we have listened.

If you have millions of WGT Players, (or is this just a figure of speech), then why don't you do something like

"We are ready to develop a new (HD quality) stroke play course - in order to finance this, we need 20 credits from each player to pay for it"

    1 million x 20 credits = 20 million credits = $200,000.

    i.e. Development paid for

Or am I just living in a virtual world?

Alternatively, if you want to stop the passing around of virtual credits that players have won and lost to each other, try this

"We are ready to develop a new (HD quality) stroke play course - in order to finance this, we need players to deposit an additional 20 cents into their accounts"

In either case, players who contribute 20 cent/credits get to play the new course for free, those who don't have to pay 5 credits/cents every time they want to play it.

You just add a field to their user record on the database, and set it to Y if they contribute to the development costs.

In this way, maybe you can deliver 4 courses a year instead of 2. (New course every 3 months)

Man, I should be in big business.

Does anyone know, ballpark, how many members of WGT there are

Totally agree your IDEA IS BETTER

What wgt should have done is to ask us if we would want a greens fee in order to get courses faster and with lesser graphics.  I think most everyone would say no.  I just read BB's post and he is spot on about most everything.  So please listen and I would end your partnership with truegolf and focus on what we have asked you to do.  And while we are waiting for new HD courses, I would like to see what BB suggested like shot shaping and stance control. etc.

Bottomline is if we see this continue after all of the feedback we have just given, then I may as well be talking to Congress...And by that I mean not listening and doing what you want to do even though everyone says STOP!

Good luck thinking anything said in this thread counts. It's a done deal and it's only going to get worse....

    From that article........

"But one of the obstacles to growth is that it takes a lot of work to add new courses. Each course has thousands of 3D renderings of a golf course, all from slightly different views. In the deal with TruGolf, WGT players will get access to more than 100 more golf courses from around the world, said Chad Nelson, president of World Golf Tour, in an interview. YuChiang Cheng, chief executive of WGT, said the partnership will let TruGolf and WGT develop courses in parallel."

    Chad Nelson is MisterWGT.

A quote from that page YJ:

The expansion will help World Golf Tour more deeply engage its 4 million-strong players on the web. While those aren’t huge numbers for a game, they’re pretty big for golf, and the thing about golf players is they tend to be rich. That’s a good audience for advertisers to target. TruGolf, which spun out from Access Software in 1999, makes realistic online golf simulations in a 3D animated environment.

Hell, i must be rich, and dont know it.

Well WGT untill 2day you had a gr8 product 2 offer. With this addittion you joined the masses.

And when you want 2 charge us 4 the "TruGolf"courses, make sure they are TOPquality like we are used 2. Please stick 2 your quality of service.

Finally, let me give you 1 advise: You had created a nichemarket, wherein you are the monopolist. Best thing 2 have 4 any business!!! So focus on your corebusiness. Develop, improve and innovate it and it will pay off...a lot!!!

    Cheers, GC
